You like Puffy and you know it...LOL. Are they all on the same label or something? I know nothing. That's coming up really soon! I'm kinda jealous...but even if I lived nearby I couldn't afford to go. Poverty can make you feel better if you think about it hard enough.

Yes, Boris is still touring with Kurihara. They didn't even put his name on the marquee, or on any tour info I looked at before the show. He was just there, in all his glory. You'd think they could advertise his presence, at least in a half-arsed kinda way. Then again, not a lot of people even know who he is. *sigh*
On a lot of the songs he was doing the background sounds/notes/piercing oscillations, but he did have a few cut-loose solo ops.

I've only heard the Puffy stuff from their show on Cartoon Network. It was okay. Pretty poppy, but they have some decent melodies. They aren't on the same label as far as I know, but they've agreed to play together. ZAZEN BOYS!

Yes, definitely try to see them. And it really does suck when people die. That's how I felt last November when Vic Chesnutt came through town... I was thinking, "Oh I should go see him... but I can just catch him next time he blows through." Then at the end of December, I read that he was in a coma, and a few days later dead.

It was good! For some reason I had been losing interest in the band as of late, but this show was pretty nice.

Also, I may be going to see Andrew Bird in December, who I really quite like.

Damn, why are they only going to Canada? Sucks they can't add a few more shows in the US.

Money. Getting a Japanese band out here is fucking expensive, and the guy arranging this tour is throwing down a lot of it out of his own pocket.

not only is he spending, he's LOSING a fucking ton of money. costs tens of thousands and his losses are in the tens of thousands too. So he's doing this out of the goodness of his heart. They wouldn't be able to get here otherwise.
