Chaos Diver's decent. I don't think any of the songs are outstanding, but they're decent. I think I like Kauntodaun the best . . .

Dang. I just finished listening to Taiyou no Naka no Seikatsu for the second time, and . WHAT HAPPENED?!?!? Seriously, their music basically went from "amazing as fuck" to quite "shitty and boring", at least in my opinion . . . but, then again, all music has to grow on me. This kind of reminds me of what AKG did, and I ended up liking Fan Club alright. Well, even if this style change continues and I never like their newer music, I'll always have their older stuff to listen to, because I absolutely love it. (I only have Ningen Program, Headphone Children, and Yomigaeru Hi, and Chaos Diver (single). I really have to get Shinzou Orchestra.) Tenki Yohou caught my attention, but I don't even like it that much . . .
Has anyone else heard it? If so, I'd be curious to hear your opinions. (I can give it to you if you want it.)

Haven't heard it yet. Headphone is still one of my favorites though.

Yeah, I'm not very impressed with the new album and that makes me pissed. I really want to love it, but it's not really doing it for me. I thought Chaos Diver was gay as shit when I first heard it, but now I'm starting to accept it as a decent song because Sekai no Hate de is like twice as hokey. Unfortuanatlly, the only highlights so far are Blackhole Birthday, Hajimete no Kokyu de and Ukiyo no Nami; which is terrible cause 2/3 were singles already and Ukiyo no Nami is semi-reminiscent of an American emo/indie band, what with the opening riff... it's still the only other song that really grabs me though. Honestly, I hate shit like Tenki Yohou. It sounds like something they recorded on a jypsy bandwagon in the middle of the desert while smoking payote; or maybe they wrote it around the time they played that festival in Spain, it would make sense. Fighting Man Blues is alright, but I think it would be alot cooler if it were mixed better, like the drums sound too weak and poofy and the guitar isnt powerful enough on the verses.
I mean, the songs aren't terrible, but it sure as hell isn't Headphone Children. I remember listening to that on the train back from NY to see The Pillows last year, and just being blown away by the versatility of that album. Hopefully this is just a "breather" album that they made inspired by some soul searching bullshit they all went through in the past year.

Headphone Children and Ningen Program at least are insane.

Did anyone check out that Live in the Sun DVD they put out a few months ago? I could never find a tracklisting for it so I didn't know if it was worth getting or not.

I was only able to download about half of it, but from what I previewed it's nothing like Bakuon Yumehanabi. It's mostly a documentary-type DVD with interviews and such with some low-quality live clips in between. I didn't bother waiting for the rest of it.
This new one looks to be a straight-forward live set with some of their rarer songs.

I started listening to them recently. Ikiru Sainou and Shinzou Orchestra are really good.

Ningen Program is definately the best to start with.

Actually, I agree with Josher. Then move from there to Shinzou Orchestra and get your mind blown.
