I picked this up recently. Overall I'd say it's pretty good- comparable in quality to First Impressions of Earth. Machu Picchu, Gratisfaction, Taken for a Fool and Under Cover of Darkness are all pretty rad.

Been listening to it a lot, and I think I like it about as much as Room on Fire. Great album. :groovin:

So I bought the album the day it came out and gave it a listen every time I drove to school and back. I'm actually feeling it a lot more than I thought I would. Its a good album, there are some really good songs and some really nice solo's. I think Taken for a fool is my favorite song so far. And Life is simple in the moonlight's solo is amazing. :groovin:

I'm starting to feel the same. There are some other strong tracks, but overall I think this one's held up much better than the rest of the album after several listens.

Taken For a Fool was an early standout for me. Then gems like Games, Metabolism, and Life is Simple in the Moonlight grew which each listen.

I definitely agree on Life is Simple in the Moonlight. I didn't like that one nearly as well the first time through.

Am I the only one who liked 'Call Me Back'?

Call Me Back probably had the least appeal initially, but I like it now.

I still can't stop listening to this album. The majority of it is awesome. Call Me Back has grown on me now. But stuff like Gratisfaction and Life is Simple in the Moonlight are just godly.

I've given the album many listens now, and it's definitely on par with their first two records. Absolutely great.

I also love how when the Strokes go on various late night TV shows, they don't just keep playing their single track. They just pick a song off the new album they feel like playing and roll with it. The album is so strong that they can actually do that and still bring the roof down.

Taken for a Fool on Letterman

You're So Right on Fallon (NBC has had this shit removed from everywhere but Hulu, so just skip to 37:40 ish)
