I am taking this list.
Just add alittle Nick Cave, David Bowie, and The Jesus and Mary Chain.
Actually I have been listening to Radiohead more than any other band.
They have grown on me. ALOT!

I was actually going to add JMC and Radiohead. I got OK Computer about 3 years ago and up until now I've just started listening to it nonstop. Weird how they work like that. They just . . sneek into your mind or something.
Have you heard the Life Aquatic OST? Bowie in Portuguese is a great thing to hear.

I like quite alot of other bands than The Pillows. My favorite band right now being Wolf Parade. If you want to check them out go here:
http://www.newmusiccanada.com/genres/ar ... d_Id=11211
But other than them I listen to alot of Animal Collective, Deerhoof, Modest Mouse, The Zutons, The Arcade Fire, The Mars Volta, The Unicorns, The Flaming Lips, The Pixies, and a whole lot more.

Cool. I love OK Computer aswell.
OK Computer was not an instant like for me though. I was much more drawn to
"The Bends". After I got into OK Computer, Kid A just sort of fit...atleast too me.
They are truly an amazing band.
I have yet to see The Life Aquatic, much to my dismay. I am sure I
would love the movie, and the OST. Bowie is such a great artist, he could
sing jibberish and it would work for me.

Are the Roosters good? I've only seen their official site, which hints that they have a similar style to Thee Michelle Gun Elephant (just speculation).

Some of the roosters songs are really catchy. I just got into Thee Michelle Gun Elephant.

Japanese music:
Penpals
Young Punch
Straightener
Ging Nang Boyz
Art-School
Noodles
And, of course, The Pillows.
American (or not-Japanese) music:
Because of the people I happen to have as friends, I tend to separate mainstream (or more well-known) music and indie music in my mind. So I'll do it here for the hell of it.
Nirvana, Green Day, Stone Temple Pilots, Bush, Pearl Jam, Gorillaz, Radiohead, The Clash, The Beatles, The Pixies, Velvet Underground, and The White Stripes.
Lesser-known bands:
Firewater, Grandaddy (check signature for one of their songs), Jawbreaker and Jets to Brazil (which I tend to think of together because they share the same singer), Eels, Mr. Scruff, The Shins, Neutral Milk Hotel, The Faint, The Gadjits, and The Smithereens (awesome pop rock group).
