Yeah, i'm used to seeing bends written like 7b8 for a half bend (bend the 7th fret up to the 8th fret) or 7b9 (bend the 7th fret up the the 9th fret). I always wondered what the ^ and ^^ was. XD

Fun little riff.

Yeah, I guess those bends were closer to a 1/4 and a 1/2.

But like I said, you just have to play it till it sounds/feels right.

I'll tab out some good exercises for finger speed and accuracy
tomorrow.
yeah, sorry to knit pick on this but i dont think pentatonic or blues scales are too similar, mare

this pattern is in reference to a major scale
penatonic: I, II, III, V, VI, VIII notes of a major scale
and blues: I IIIb, IV, IV#, V, VIIb, VIII

well, they aren't too similar to me.
The minor blues scale is the normal pentatonic scale plus the blue note, which is the flatted fifth.

Luis is a fool and plays too much clarinet, thus rendering him often retarded with guitars.

By the way, the reason I pointed out the blue note was not to be a dick, which is what I would typically do, but rather because it's not just a note that can be thrown around like the other five. One can pretty safely venture and experiment with a normal minor pentatonic scale, as long as it's in the appropriate key. I personally don't think the blues scale should be introduced to people just learning how to use scales and leads.

e|------------------------------5-7-8---------------------------------------------|
B|-----------------------5-7-8---------------------------------------------------|
G|----------------5-7-8---------------------------------------------------------|
D|------------5-7---------------------------------------------------------------|
A|------5-6-7-------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|--5-8--------------------------------------------------------------------------|

Ok, this is almost the same scale that I posted before, but you'll
notice the added notes on the B and E strings. Not only does your playing flow better when you play these shapes, it also opens up alot of new possibilities. If you haven't experimented with this shape before, you
should try it out.

And below is a good legato excercise which you can use to build
endurance as well as speed. I only posted the tab for a portion
of it, because it's all so much eaiser to explain in a video.

Most of what I am posting here are shapes. Don't even think scales right now. Take the shapes and move them all around. Get comfortable with each one of them. They might not be the best sounding things in the world, but once you attain the coordination to play them, you can use
that new skill and some of the shapes on ANY scale you so choose.

e|---------------------------------------------------
B|---------------------------------------------------
G|----------------------------------------1h3h4----
D|-----------------1h3h4--------1h3h4------------
A|---------1h3h4---------1h3h4-------------------
E|--1h3h4------------------------------------------

* Also try 1h2h4 and 1h3h5

Once you take that shape all the way to the 4'th fret E string
move over one string and work your way back up using the same
pattern, or one of the others.

hahahah...oh yeah. I remember that.

I'll have to look for it, my days of shred guitar are all but over.

And I'll get a video to fully explain the above post.

Haha, I forgot that was you who did Pentatonic Shred. For some reason I thought it was Steven. I actually sort of liked that.

Sclone, was that you who had the Gibson LP and random assorted pedals and recording stuff? I remember the pic from a long time ago, but can't recall for sure.
