I know, I was just laughing at his name. Y'all forgot about Flea, though.

Jaco Pastorius is good for his genre, but he doesnt do slap (im pretty sure atleast)
Flea is really good too, probably next in line after Wooten

Flea is great for his creativity. His basslines are bitchin'. Plus he's engaged to a model now.

Why?? He's solid.
Jun Shizuku is alright. But when I listen to his playing in older songs, like One Life and Another Morning and Strange Chameleon, there's a lot missing from the songs. Kashima's basslines for those were crazy and had much more going on.

No way, man. Flea has to be the most-valuable bassist in the US. I'm not saying he's the most technically skilled, but his lines are awesome.

Maybe so, but people just can't stop talking about how fucking funky he is,
and yet no one ever mentions the people he is ripping off.

Listen to " From a Satch concert ~1988: The Paris Solo"
It's fourth from the top.
Funky slap pop and so much more.

Um, yeah. So that guy can play. Flea is a creative genius, not the absolute best funk bassist.
Forget Flea's funk stuff. Listen to songs like Road Trippin', Parallel Universe, Soul to Squeeze, and Pretty Little Ditty. Remember that cool bassline from that Crazy Town song Butterfly? Yeah, Flea wrote that; they took it right off Mother's Milk. I also defy you to find a cooler bass intro than Around the World has.

I can't remember who billy sheehan plays for. I think it might be dokken, but then for some reason i'm thinking mr. big, but maybe that's just because paul gilbert played for them and they were good. i dunno.

He played for Mr. Big, Talas and I think David Lee Roth.
Jaco. He knew how to handle a fretless bass. Did some wonderful harmonics, too.
Other bass players I'm found of:
Stanley Clarke
Charles Mingus
Paul Chambers
