For the time thing you could do some intense metronome practice. Makes a huge difference. Get some time exercises and master them.

I do. All the time. But it's still hard.

This is what happens when you start off playing just by yourself for 3 years, then getting into theory and shit for a year, then recording.
Either way, I'm not particularly happy with these, but they are just a demo of what i'm doing. I plan on recording these with the bassist and drummer from my jazz band soon, so maybe you can expect those sometime later.
I am intrigued.

Sounded good Steven.

Alittle more work in smoothing out those runs, and you will have that

Yngwie sound.

The sweeps were not quite there, but you have the right idea, just keep playing them over and over and over, that is the only real way to get them faster/smoother. And usually for sweeps, just HO/PO the last note of the Arp, without picking it, it will be ALOT smoother that way.

About the metronome, I am sure it really helps out your time and all, but I found it to be boring as hell, so I never used one. If you are thinking about buying a digital recorder, you can just play with the internal drum machine.
I mean, as long as you are playing to a set bpm, I think it is good practice. That's what I always did, I'm not all that fast, but it works well enough.

Oh yeah, I noticed the diminished run you played on song #2 (45 sec.)

Good stuff!

Those are pretty tight, Steve; but yes, the recording is pretty bad.

Hahaha. I mess up so much, it's not even funny. I like play out of key sometimes. But yeah, I NEVER play blues, so it's hard to think of stuff to do. Either way, we recorded it as a joke.

Haha. I have no reason on working on blues because I don't intend to play it. I never practice blues, and one of the blues songs, I didn't even play guitar on. Mackenzie's kool blues, me and the bassist switched. It was hilarious.

Okay, so I was over at Judy's house and I was messing around with his bass. As he attempted to pass out on his chair, I played the bass plugged into Amplitube, and turned on the delay. We both agree that the solo was no less than face-meltingly trippy. Something that Replica would like.

Interestingly, all I have here is a Replica of that. It's about 10.8 MB, and 9 and a half minutes long. Probably not as entertaining if you're not into John Zorn or stoned.

Fdbk, plz.

I redid Colors. It's on my Dmusic page. I think the link is a page or three back.
