I know how to play some of Manabe's parts comfortably but I'll let GR or someone with mad skills instead. We should have tryouts or something, to figure who will be in this

Re: Beautiful Picture Idea
We will pick enough songs that tryouts will be wholly unnecessary. We only need to assign people to where they want to be. We should make out a list of songs, and who will be playing each one. We should create a tabbing committee to get all the songs on GP5 ASAP. Then, each group will receive their tab(s) and get to work. It's that simple, but it's difficult to organize on an internet forum.

Re: Beautiful Picture Idea
There should be a seperate thread with all of the info such as tabs in GP5 and other needed info to get things organized. Who has the gear to record music well? I mean a webcam isn't going to work as great as a studio.

Re: Beautiful Picture Idea
There will be a separate, sticky thread for GP tabs once the songs are settled upon.
As for vocals and guitar at the same time, perhaps we have people that only want to sing/don't have guitar amps with them right now (<-me), so there will be five parts for every song...if somebody wants to double up and record both rhythm guitar and the vocals, that will be okay.
However, keep in mind, the vocals should be recorded separately at the very end after at least the rhythm, bass, and drums are already laid down and synchronized, just as you would with any professional recording. I'm not sure whether you'd want to lay down the lead guitar before or after the vocals, it will probably depend on the song and how important vocal cues are to the guitarist.
Also, Sheer and I both have experience with recording songs, and the number one thing I can tell you is that it's going to require a lot of patience. If you want it to come out good, you're going to have to set aside a good several hours to try over and over again to make absolutely sure that the timing and notes are perfect. The more work you put into it, the better the quality of the finished product. Be willing to sacrifice a lot of time to practice and practice so that you can measure up to the rest of the people in your group.

Re: Beautiful Picture Idea
What are the groups anyway? I mean it looks like you and Sheer are in the same group, maybe even GR is in it. What about the others.
I say we choose the teams now. And PM eachother when we have our portions of the songs done. I mean, I would love to play Ice Pick with everyone.I have the rythm and vocals down already. The timing and syncronizing is all thats left. I'm ready to practice more, but need to know who I'm practicing with.
Give me a list of who is playing and what they will cover. And we should decide who is in what group by organization.

Re: Beautiful Picture Idea
Brye, we should probably decide on the covers first.

Re: Beautiful Picture Idea
I think we're going to pick the songs we want, and then have people sign up for the parts they want to play. Then we'll unleash the songs to the tabbers, who should be finished in a week, depending on how busy everyone is. Finally, we'll get the songs hammered out.

I'll go with this. Its as simple as you can get. When are the suggestions going to be closed?

Sounds like somebody doesn't know what the fuck they're talking about. The best part is that the next post in the other thread after I announced that was one by you.

Re: Beautiful Picture Idea
All I need is the tabs for the songs I don't know and I'll play it. As for recording/video recording equipment, I would need to acquire that. I do have the Pied Piper band score, so if you guys pick a song out of that, I have the source.

Re: Beautiful Picture Idea
No one's tabbed Like a Lovesong yet. It's a bit fuzzy, so it's hard to make out...but if someone DID tab it, it'd be great just to have the tab. Just to like, have it.
BUT ANYWAY, I JUST REMEMBERED SOMETHING AWESOME WE COULD DO. Remember how I mentioned how it'd be really cool if the other people in the group did the "yeah yeahs"?
Okay, well I need everyone to bring up their Pied Piper Go To Yesterday - Pied Piper tour audio rips. Hit up Like a Lovesong. Skip to 1:53.
Sawao: Kotoba ni wa shinai Kanjou wo tsumekonde Soko ni iru MAI FURENDO ::INSTRUMENTS CUT:: Audience: Kore wa kimi no uta (This is your song) ::CONTINUE::
It's really really...dare I say, ADORABLE. It sums up what being a hardcore pillows fan is all about. It's everything. It's awesome. I say if we do Like a Lovesong, we have to incorporate this somehow.
edit: Can any potential singers back me up on thinking Like a Lovesong is kind of in a high key? Might be a good idea to take it down a step, depending on whoever's doing it.
