In that case I'll have to transform into MECHA KING GHIDORAH 2001.
Bring it fool, I already vanquished Hedora 3002 in pitched combat.
Super smile! :D

That's just what he does. Don't take anything he says that might sound offensive seriously, or you won't last long here.

No. Seriously. We have actually considered making it a rule that you cannot take what Culen says personally.
stupid shit goes here
Yeah, re-read what I posted. I never even once implied I was the one who tabbed it. Every Japanophile on the internet absolutely fellates the song, specifically the solo, because some gender-confused Japanese goths play it when it's actually REALLY fucking weak. I looked around for an mp3 of the song and a tab of it (P.S. to get the latter, I had to register with a forum that had almost 1,000 members literally because it allowed women and possibly even men, to roleplay gay sex via text. Great fanbase, right?) thinking the song would be the holy grail of music and the solo would be some super awesome, mind-blowing achievement in modern music that would make me shit my pants but it was actually just a couple of fucking harmonics here and there. Oh boy, I better start liking Dir en Grey and the motherfucking cock because their bassist is so fucking talented and better than every other in existence.
In short, I don't see where it's wrong to judge a song on its musical complexity. Please enlighten me.
Secondly, Jun hardly sucks. "LOL ROFL IM GONNA GO SHIT MYSELF BECAUSE HE CAN'T PLAY LIKE JACO OR WOOTEN LMFAO BBQ!!!1" Who cares? Wow, he can't solo like a madman for 20 minutes straight, I guess that means he sucks. The fact of the matter is he's a solid bassist, and out of the 3 Pillows CD's I have with him on it, I haven't heard him go offbeat or totally butcher a song yet. Who really cares if he doesn't solo like Flea or whoever, he gets the damn job done.
Please take notice to how I ALWAYS compare Jun Suzuki to his immediate musical peers and not the Jacos or the Claypools. I agree he's a solid bassist, but not on the level of those who were working with the pillows before him. Tatsuya Kashima didn't "solo", as you put it, but he improvised studio recordings, even his own, during live shows whenever he had the chance and that's why I think he's better. And who in the fuck masters and sells an album with the bassist playing offbeat or just sucking balls in general? That's right, none. As such, the last half of your argument is null in void.

LOL U DIDN'T TAB TEH SONG, THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING ROFL USMC!!! Who cares? It still took you 2 months to learn a song that "sucks balls." The fact of the matter is that it took you a period of two months (even with the tab, no less) to learn a presumably shitty song worshipped by assholes everywhere. With all your divine musical knowledge it should've taken half that (at the most), even when you were just "fucking around."
As for musical complexity, here's why: THE SONG HAS TO SOUND GOOD. I could tell my guitarist and drummer to just do as much random, complex shit as they want, but it would sound like a chicken being skinned alive. Complex parts are good when used sparingly, but just making a complex song for the sake of making a complex song is bullshit. Hey, let's make a complex song so we can be worshipped by pompous assholes at Starbuck's everywhere.

Whoa boy, you've got my twisted in my own web of illogical statements . . . except for the fact that I WASN'T TALKING ABOUT YOU. That rapier sarcasm you have there really stings, Twain.

This part just confuses me to be honest. Hey there, super cool Tatsuya Kashima can improvise during shows and studio sessions, whoa-dee-do-do-do. WHO CARES? The point of this topic was to debate whether Jun sucks or not, and all you've done is made a shitty point as to why somebody else is better than him. The point that was apparently lost on you is that he gets the damn job done. He plays the fucking live shows, and he contributes to the records. You even agree that he's a solid bassist, yet apparently he still sucks (for what, keeping on beat?). Oh yeah that's right, he can't improvise. Or maybe he just doesn't want to be an attention grabbing asshole and he just wants to play the damn song. He isn't the best, yet I haven't heard a coherent argument yet as to why he sucks.
Oh and finally . . . .
I'm a dumbass.
Tee hee! Maybe if I make up quotes, people might think I have personality and wit! Nice one there, John Stewart.
