It comes with the arrogance gained from being a music reviewer, and the notion because you're a reviewer people will actually give a shit about what you're talking about. But I don't blame him though, especially when you're among the hearing impaired. I'm sure it's really hard to hear anything with your head so far up your own ass.
i know some of these guys and they're not really arrogant at all.

the problem is getting an objective opinion. almost impossible. thus, personal tastes override a proper review, and they tend to say, rather than "i didn't like it,"this song was a steaming pile of shit."
Oh, and another thing that surprised me. The reviewer stating how Second Fanfare was the best thing Sparta Locals ever put out.
I may be in the minority here, but...I think Dreamer and Sun Sun Sun are MUCH better than Second Fanfare.
Actually I say it's tied with Sun Sun Sun. Dreamer was great, don't get me wrong. But Second Fanfare and Sun Sun Sun are amazing.

Initially I thought Dreamer was the weakest of their releases, but it's grown on me so much.. I'm not sure.

YO DUDES! This is the hated Bob who wrote that review. You guys should come and trash me, disagree with me, and just plain old stir up some discussion on the Keikaku forums about this review and Sparta Locals in general.
You should also listen to Second Fanfare, watch the Trend DVD, then compare it side by side with Baka Yarou's video to see what I meant in my review.

lol propaganda.
I saw the PV. I saw the comments. I hate the comments. I wasn't fond of the song. The PV itself however was pretty interesting. Even though I was annoyed by those damn legs!

It had nothing to do with the negative about Sparta Locals. It was when Sun Sun Sun was brought up in a negative light that things took a turn for the worst....

I've listened to Second Fanfare a lot, I've really *tried* to like it, but... I just don't think it sounds that great. There are a few good songs, but the album as a whole sounds too repetitive. It's too slow paced for me. Sun Sun Sun is perfectly coherent... I don't see why anyone (like the Keikaku guy) would be complaining about that.
I still need to listen to Dreamer more... Yume Station is probably my favorite Sparta Locals song, but the rest of the album hasn't gotten much play time.
I haven't heard the self-titled album, either. Baka Yarou isn't that great, but nowhere near as bad as the Keikaku guy suggests. I will say this: that song probably has the worst guitar tone I've ever heard in my life.

Start liking Second Fanfare immediately. Listen to Dreamer more and it'll grow on you. I know that's what happened to me and lately I listen to it the most. Adam shined that light though. Boku Wa Lion is amazing.

Man, what was I thinking. Second Fanfare is at least as good as Sun Sun Sun. I don't think Dreamer is as good as its predecessors, but there are still plenty of great songs on it, like Yume Station and Night Escape.
The self-titled album, on the other hand, pretty much sucks. However, I really like Thank and Heart, and Generation X, to a lesser extent. The rest is very forgettable.

I should probably say that if you haven't heard already, there is some talk that the band might have already found a replacement drummer. I'm not really exactly sure if this is true or not though.
Also, they are coming out with a new album in April. It's called "まぼろしFOREVER".

Yeah, I heard about the new drummer; he's apparently from some shoegaze band. However, it's absolute madness that they're already coming out with another album only a few months after the last. I'm not expecting a lot.
