Rock Band Japan regarding The Pillows
Rock Band Japan: You thinking what I'm thinking?
I hear L'arc en Ciel is going to be featured in that game, but I don't know about The Pillows. They don't seem "pop (I use this word loosely)" enough to be desired enough to be put into or featured in a game. All of the Japanese people I know, even those fresh out of Japan, have never even heard of The Pillows. This upsets me, but that's how things are. Now the real question is, "what are the chances?"

Does it really matter? If L'arc~en~ciel's already to be announced in the game, that means you can't go well from there.

Re: Rock Band Japan regarding The Pillows
Actually there have been no confirmations on who is in the game (none that I've seen at least) besides the fact they stressed that they are making the game heavily localized. I'd think actually chances of the pillows getting in are decent to good considering the coverage they've gotten with they're latest releases (especially with NEW ANIMAL) and how well the new album sold. So I'm thinking and hoping that if anything NEW ANIMAL will be the pick if the pillows do get in or Scarecrow at the very least (I don't mind the FLCL stuff considering those songs are great but for something localized for Japan I'd think it'd be a bit off since it's more something that caught on in America rather than something that caught on in Japan).

I would buy this and all the associated peripherals if the pillows were in it.

Wait.. Rock Band Japan?
NO WAY HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT
Is there a way to play foreign games on PS3/360? I had freeloaders and mod chips and stuff for last gen but I haven't run into it yet this gen, and this game would most definitely be first on my import list.

Re: Rock Band Japan regarding The Pillows
guess what: L'arc, Dir En Grey, and probably a ton of bad shit. Asian Kung-Fu Generation if we're lucky. if the pillows are on there, 10 bucks says the song is Ride on Shooting Star. Hopefully not, because that'd be extremely easy shit.
Number Girl might get on there... I don't think it'd be ROSS that'd get on there, I think it'd be New Animal or Scarecrow... hm...

lolwut? It would be ROSS if they were putting it out here, but compared to music from that time, newer pillows shit is a lot more popular in Japan.
As for the chances, I'd say they aren't too terribly bad. Among the average Nihonjin, the pillows aren't that well known, but if you ask people who like rock music, a good percentage of them have heard some of the their music. But I'd put my money on something post-TYMT if they were to be included. The Third Eye comes to mind. Something like that, maybe.

Re: Rock Band Japan regarding The Pillows
Agreement with Jolmes here. I think the most likely would probably be Scarecrow or New Animal, but definitely one of the newer ones. Almost everyone I've ever met that knows rock has at least heard of them. Your average silly pops-gobbling Japanese kid doesn't, but they also don't even know Ellegarden or Asian Kung-Fu Generation, so you can't take that as any indication of how well-known the pillows are, haha.

oh shit, sorry you guys. I was smoking crack cocaine and for some reason thought Rock Band Japan was slated for a US release. yeah, you guys are definitely right. Probably something like Ladybird Girl or New Animal. If they wanted to have fun with it they'd put Tokyo Zombie. That would be VERY interesting on Rock Band.

Re: Rock Band Japan regarding The Pillows
It would be a single if they were on it at all. There's no way that they'd put one of the normal tracks off the new album, they'd want something more widely known.

Re: Rock Band Japan regarding The Pillows
My money is mainly on Scarecrow because I remembering hearing from someone in the forum that it was "their best selling release yet."
And besides, how do I know New Animal isn't going to be featured in an anime show, like scarecrow was in moonlight mile. It's seems too new to be evaluated at this point so I definitely think Scarecrow has a better chance.
