Shonen Knife
So, does anyone like them or what?
I've only recently gotten into them and through hard searches found a few mp3s. Does anyone recomend a first album for me buy?

I recently bought "Burning Farm", one of their earlier albums. I really enjoy it. I don't know if it will suit your taste or not. But its a fairly safe investment as I only spent about 13 dollars purchasing through Amazon.

I love them. A lot. Even though one of the members left, they're still the band I would go to for some mindless fun. Catnip Dream has to be one the cutest songs I've ever heard.
Have to catch them the next time they're in orange county.

Rock Animals is my favortie album, but it's not a very solid one. Let's Knife and the B Sides are pretty consistent.
And whatever Cookie City was on

naoko and atsuko are the most genuine of people ;-;
they make their own costumes, sing about hot chocolate and their interviews make you want to grab them and give them a surplus of hugs.

louis t: Yeah, let's say five years ahead. Like what's in the future for your band?
naoko: Yeah...um, my purpose is I want to sell as much CDs as much as possible and I'm going to get much money, and I want to buy a big spaceship and I want to live in the spaceship and also the front of the spaceship will be a stage so we can tour using the stage.

i got "yama no acchi" today and am listening to it right now. (i actually bought it). you guys are right, the cuteness is fricking wonderful. it's insanely cool, though very much different than a lot of music. and the bass lines seem a bit repetitive, but still. so cute.

Does anybody remember the song they sang that was put up on CN for awhile? It was during the PPG campaign. I liked that song.

That is Buttercup (I'm a Super Girl).
I like the Ramones-sound to it. Devo(or just the main guy from Devo) also did a song for PPG.
Also heard on the radio(89.9 KCRW) that Shonen Knife are supposed to play a concert here in the SoCal area. I'm definitly going.
