It inevitably happens to pretty much everyone.

I was pretty much just posting a conversation that echoed my sentiments about it, but whatever.
I wouldn't go so far as to not call it music at all, since that's such a subjective thing to say, but I'm really not impressed in the least. It's probably because I don't enjoy shredding.

What would impress you? Mediocre playing, meaningless lyrics, and below average musicianship?

I don't really like shred either, but I can certainly appreciate the many hours of practice that clearly went into building chops like that. Even though it's not my cup of tea, I wouldn't say that it induces vomiting.

More than musical masturbating does.
For someone who supposedly possesses superior understanding of musical theory and the technical skill you've demonstrated, you sure do put up a lot of recordings that you comment are "shitty" or "hillarious" or "recorded as a joke" instead of actual songs.
I did like that acoustic thing you did.

^^Yeah.
I'd like to hear some non-shred. Your "Maiden Voyage" piece was pretty cool.

The song is good in regards to technique, but in regards to melody, not so good. IMO, you're becoming more of a Michael Angelo instead of a Jason Becker. If you spent some time working on melody instead of technique, things would get interesting.

You're exactly right, and that's what I have been working on.

 Re: PRAISE ME
EDIT: I don't really like shredding (at all), and I really don't like arrogent pricks, but I don't like being so big a dick either...

Terra fails to comprehend the use of the caps lock. It upsets me. EVEN THOUGH I DO DESERVE SOME PRAISE.
