You’re not listening to the right country.

I think country is a stupid term. It's really all just folk or rock in varying proportions, but I guess that we need some form of standard nomenclature to discuss music.

This is just guitar, also. I'm only knowledgeable enough in Rock style to go with favorites and best.

Japanese:

Tak Matsumoto of B'z, ken of L'Arc~en~Ciel and Sons of all Pussys, SUGIZO of LUNA SEA and The FLARE, INORAN of LUNA SEA and FAKE?, Kenichi Ito most known from Iceman, miyavi, and I think Sawao and Manabe are very good too.

Non japanese:

Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, George Harrison, Steve Vai, Edge from U2, and others i'm probably missing.

Isn't that like an oxymoron?

But honestly people. Can we not dislike a genre of music without being told we just aren't listening to the right stuff? I can accept that thrice doesn't like blues. It's ok that Culen doesn't like metal. It's a damn good thing that I don't like country.

Can we all just agree that Bright Eyes sucks donkey dick?

as far as bass goes, i think either jaco or billy sheehan, even though he plays for somebody i despise, except his mr. big days.

Jaco is super talented, but he's a bit fusion for my taste. I really like Mingus though, that man is a complete genius. Pithecanthropus Erectus is probably my favorite jazz album of all time.

I think Stanley Clarke is one of the best basists working right now.

You got a problem with Steve Vai?

Stu Hamm is an awesome bass player.

Transcribed Moonlight Sonata for the bass....all tapping!

What about like John Entwhistle, Paul McCartney, John Paul Jones, Geezer Butler. I like them more than some of the guys up there.
