So, something that's always bugged me about Touming Magazine is [i]how they haven't put out any new material since 2012[/i]. I get that bands slow down because they are people with lives but I guess the fact that I was in the dark due to the language barrier exacerbated my annoyance. Of course, TM did put out that demo last year + they toured China (as well as Japan in 2015, which was epic), which bodes well for the future.

BUT the main reason I started this thread is to ask: did you guys know Hong (frontman from TM) has a solo career? He's put out albums (they might be mini-albums, actually) in 2013, 2014 and 2016, which possibly solves the mystery of why the band hasn't done anything for so long...although whether Hong went solo caused the band to go on hold or the band going on hold caused Hong to go solo isn't clear to me.

CDs of Hong's solo stuff is over at Chia Chyun Record Co., and they ship internationally from Taipei which is awesome. There's also copies of the Japan bonus track edition of Hong's 2014 record [i]Cancer[/i] at Amazon.co.jp and Rakuten. He also put out a compilation tape + CD-R of stuff from all three albums via Tea Records (owned by フジロッ久(仮)'s drummer) in Japan and an LP edition of 2013's [i]Light Coral[/i]; both are sold out.

I thought he was being all involved with some sort of social/political movement in Taiwan or whatever for some reason, I think from some of the events I saw him posting for his solo shows. Probably pure speculation, though? lol

Woah, could be true. Do you know if any Touming songs have political messages in 'em? Would be cool for that sorta subject matter to coincide with Hong's "sexual hallucinations" or whatever teen feelings he writes about.

I think it's saying to email their gmail address for inquiries about goods/releases and that aren't playing any shows in the future? That could be a breakup, it could just be that they aren't booking anything atm...let's pray for the latter.

Ugh, just when I was getting my hopes up for a new album.

So, Hong has that new band called VOOID. I dunno whether they're just gonna play his solo stuff live or they're gonna become a full-fledged band like TM was, even if Hong continues to write everything.

Also, fun fact: the guy who took the photo of the cat that's on the cover of the [i]Touming Magazine Forever[/i] EP is the same guy who takes all of the photos that are on Ging Nang Boyz's cover and booklet artwork.

So, last month, Hom said he quit TM. Looks like the band is over. VOOID seems to be going strong, though; they've already done a bunch of touring since forming late last year.

That's a real shame to hear, but hopefully VOOID puts out some awesome releases for us.

Touming Magazine Forever is one of those god-tier best rock songs to my tastes, I'll be blasting that one until the day I die. RIP, Touming.
