Re: Pillows Tribute Album Sign-Ups
That's the problem. Bottleneck. We can only do so much as Orochi drums and Little Norbert plays bass. Essentially, the project (unfairly) relies upon them to do get anything done.

Re: Pillows Tribute Album Sign-Ups
Why don't you use midi drums until you can get a way to record a decent drum track? Orochi can drum along with what you've got recorded and then remove the midi drums.

But judging by the list of songs we're doing, that'd probably work fine for the most part. (Actually, I'd be willing to bet that the pillows recorded most of their songs with a click track.)

MIDI drums is a lot of work. If anything, we should use a click track if we ultimately intend to replace it.

I'm thinking we may have to cut our losses and change the personnel list, and possible the set list. It seems I'm the only one open to play bass, and several tracks on the list don't seem to have been tabbed.

Re: Pillows Tribute Album Sign-Ups
I guess at this point we don't have to worry about preemption. I think we're better off with a first come-first serve system. While we should avoid it, even if we double up a song or two, that's okay - this is just a community project, for fun. If you're working on something, just let everyone know.
The other problem is tabs. If anything, we should have everyone with a band score tab it out in Guitar Pro to share with everyone and pick from those. There are some other songs that are tabbed to completion (for all parts), but those are few and far between, and it's easier to just rely on the classics and the new stuff. However, if you're dead-set on doing Bokura no Hare Suisei...then amen, brother - but that song is going to be a nuisance to tab for all parts (although we do have the benefit of two separate recordings and several live videos).
Still, I'd really like to do this.
Still, I'd really like to do this.
I agree. I never got in on the original so i'm open to doing this. Just incase anyone missed it when I re-upped it in the tabs section, this is the GP5 set from the Best Collection Band Score. All instruments, VOX, etc. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1244235/Hosted% ... coreGP.rar

Re: Pillows Tribute Album Sign-Ups
If you recall, it was proven that there are mistakes in that shit. I have most of the band scores, and since I'm writing my fucking graduation thesis for the sake of the community, fuck if I care about tossing in a few extra hours to tab out band score songs, but only if you guys are goddamn serious about covering them, because shit is time-consuming and I'd rather just be writing original music.

Re: Pillows Tribute Album Sign-Ups
No, and I'm not saying that the band score itself was proven to have mistakes, but that the person who tabbed them all out fucked up in multiple places, so you can't trust those implicitly.
Edit: MY gf just told me that my post up there was really angry, so I guess now I get why you were asking if I was high. It is neither an angry post nor a high post, just a post of "let's fucking do this or let's not already."

Re: Pillows Tribute Album Sign-Ups
Thanks for the share, Spike. I have the actual band score, but I'm kinda lost in the Strange Chameleon solo. Sure they have mistakes, but at least it helps a bit.

Re: Pillows Tribute Album Sign-Ups
So, is there a reason this idea derailed? Obviously organizing something like this isn't easy but just wondering... If I had a guitar/amp/recording equipment at the moment I'd be in... Js... Maybe it'll come back to life sometime in the future when I do...
