Re: Modest Mouse
I didn't like the vocalist initially either but a couple songs grew on me...
I love vocals that are on the edge. That are trembling with emotion. Shaking with passion. Vibrating with genuine sound. Let it be crispy and crackling. I'm not looking for a sound that's all too clean, all too clear, all too common.
I actually like Modest Mouse, because I think the lyrics are quite interesting . . . and not Japanese, haha. It also sounds less cheerful than the pillows, in a good way. And I love the rich sound of the different instruments.
Enjoying "Good news for people who love bad news". Pretty solid album, like it tells a story, a short life story. Nice range of emotions. Quickly becoming second favorite band, after the pillows.

Re: Modest Mouse
Their accents moderately annoy me.
