I'm not saying it's something drastic like Kid A was. I'm all for a band progressing, trust me, but Straightener's newer albums don't do it for me like the first few. Maybe part of it is because that's the sound I fell in love with, so I'm biased in that regard, I dunno. For all intents and purposes it's not a drastic change in sound yes, but I feel that something was lost when they added the new guitarist, something intangible. That's just me though.

Just to let you know, I only fell off of the Straightener boat after Dear Deadman. I'm getting back into them now, I downloaded Linear and like it. I have no problem with changing sound, it keeps things fresh. Any band that stays going for longer than a few years is bound to switch things up here and there.
