He's not hitting the high e as an open note, but it's definitely on the lower frets (seen it live in person a few times now, lol).

Verse lead should be hammer-ons, not slides for that 2-3 transition (aware that it's old, just making a note for people who wouldn't be able to realize it on their own).

For half-steps, it makes no difference - but yeah, that will (a) be easier, and (b) be consistent with what Manabe does.

I'm planning to cover this song with my band. My lead seems a bit lacking on the chorus.

You need a program called Guitar Pro 5 (or 6). You can easily pirate this software.
