Post subject:  GP and MIDI tabbing

I don't remember if I tried this before, but long time ago I made a GP (Guitar Pro) File of Hybrid Rainbow and Come Down. I think this is a better way of tab songs because it's easier and you can hear the rythm, plus you can mute the instrument you play and have "someone" to practice. I also made midis of piano versions of others songs, i like to do that because i give to the song other sound and rythm. If anyone else like to do GP/midi files, it would be nice to share those files.

Actually, I want to do GP with the tabs in the page, adding the rest of the instruments. I suggested to terra a section of GP files, but Im not sure if she wants to do that.

guitarpro/powertabs are sweet. the only problem is that they take nearly forever to make, and it's not necessary if you are experienced enough at playing music.

It seems like a good idea, as long as someone is willing and able to do it.

I am. I know it is a hard almost never-ending work, but I like to do it. It's true that if you're are good and experienced you don't need to hear, but most of the people who wants a tab obviously isn't that good or experienced because they can't even get a tab of a song. It isn't necesary to do the whole song, solos or riffs are ok, it would be nice.

I don't think they take too long to make, but you are compelled to write everything, including solos, fills, etc., which are often skimped in ASCII tabs. You are also forced to make the tabs ACCURATELY, which, I'm afraid, is a MAJOR downfall of ASCII. All in all, GP/PT is simply better, although the inherent thoroughness does cause some problems. However, it's quite easy to make a GP/PT file as simple as an ASCII tab - thus making it an equivalent (or greater, as it will print more nicely), and therefore not taking any more time on it than you would on an ASCII tab. But GP/PT is all about thorough perfection, but I can see where one can take both paths.

Overall, we need a section for Guitar Pro and Power Tab. Something like this: http://www.racerxband.com/tabs.htm

Ok, then I'll start. There two are my first attempts.

Come Down

And this is a personal version of Hybrid Rainbow

Right now I'm working in a piano version of my foot (it ends just before the chorus):
