Re: Moon Marguerite
You strike me as a person who judges people on the basis of what operating system they use...

Saying "here's a piece of software that can open this kind of file" is suggesting an alternative for... guess what? An alternative to OPENING a file. Does not imply any equality as to the power of the software. Only in that they both can open the file.
I find it quite amusing, stupid even, that someone can get worked up over choice of software to the point of making insults about homosexuality. I cannot, for the life of me, understand how you equate your self worth to your choice of tab viewing software. That Guitar Pro is miles better than TuxGuitar is not going to save the world and beating an anonymous person on the internet to the ground is not going to solve world hunger.
Now excuse me, I have to go to work: a place where if you try to start an argument over GUITAR TAB VIEWING SOFTWARE, well, they'd never hire someone with that level of pettiness in the first place.

I guess thats why you shake your "I have a real life" e-penis around all the time. Using that tired ass retheortic says everything I need to know about you, or rather, enough to know that proving your point isn't enough, you have to put some kind of personal jab in at the end, and then have the balls to say "lols arguing on internet stupidz". You obviously have enough time to come here and post about it so don't give me this "real life" bullshit.

Re: Moon Marguerite
Hmm... I don't think I've said anything to you and yet you're getting involved...
Yea, and you're so much better than Homosexuality jokes, right?
Yes, because I didn't make one. Whatever you think about the "I have a real life e-penis" thing, the point is that it's not a homosexuality joke. Or is having a job considered gay now?
enough to know that proving your point isn't enough, you have to put some kind of personal jab in at the end,
I wasn't aware my point was proven yet, as sheer seems intent on showing how much Guitar Pro is better than TuxGuitar and how I should feel bad for suggesting it as a way of opening a file as if I'm trying to mislead people. As for personal jab, I don't think telling someone that there are bigger problems to worry about than the choice of GUITAR TAB VIEWING SOFTWARE is a personal jab.
As far as I can tell, saying that you're in a job where TRIVIAL matters such as this does not warrant personal attacks like homosexuality jokes, is not a personal jab. I wasn't rubbing the fact that I have a job in someone's face, I was rubbing the fact that TRIVIAL matters are TRIVIAL in someone's face. A personal jab would be, I don't know, implying that someone sucks cock because of their choice in GUITAR TAB VIEWING SOFTWARE, or how someone will never be accepted into this "community" for being stupid - but none of that's happened yet, has it?
It's strange that I've somehow touched a nerve even though 1) I didn't address anything to you 2) My first post in this thread is a harmless paragraph 3) I haven't done anything wrong in this forum, maybe except for requesting tabs and offering tabs from the band scores...
then have the balls to say "lols arguing on internet stupidz"
I didn't say that. I said arguing over the choice of GUITAR TAB VIEWING SOFTWARE is stupid and the vitriol directed at people for suggesting a way to open a file is retarded. I didn't say arguing on the internet is stupid.

Touched a nerve? Please, I made a throwaway comment and you typed an essay to prove me wrong, there's only one person here who cares too much. You made your point, and now your just pissing around. This isn't a very large community, it dosen't matter who you're talking to, this forum dosen't move fast enough for your comments to just go unnoticed. I have nothing better to do at the moment then come here and argue. Stop acting like a dumbass, it's not going to do you any favors in the long run, and if you plan on just being an asshole to everyone then i'm afraid your in the wrong place because, as I said, this community isn't that large.

Re: Moon Marguerite
Your comment was far from throwaway. It was very tall-poppy syndromish - like you had an axe to grind with someone for making a comment about not overreacting (like references to dick sucking) to trivialities.
I wasn't planning on being an asshole to anyone. I made a comment. sheer started being an asshole towards me. I gave him ample opportunity to stop (eg my short replies to his initial pushy replies). Then he comes up with this massive bomb. I'm the reciprocating kind. You got yourself involved and acted the asshole for no good reason so I'm reciprocating in kind too.
I didn't pick fights with sheer or you, as evidenced by all of my posts. It was sheer and you who picked a fight for no good reason so don't act all high and mighty.

No, trust me, it was throwaway. If it was a serious attempt at an arguement it would have been much longer and much more dramatic, complimented by funny, moderately relevant images. I tried solving it in a lighthearted matter earlier with the "beating a dead horse" image but that didn't seem to take. See the reason the "you started it" arguement never works is, if you really thought that, you wouldn't bother arguing at all. By posting a response at all you've already lost the facade of being above stupid arguements, or on some higher level of maturity. So, you're either an asshole or someone who likes to argue. Me? I like to think I merge the best of both worlds.
I didn't sell it as an alternative to Guitar Pro - that's just you putting words in my mouth.

Saying "here's a piece of software that can open this kind of file" is suggesting an alternative for... guess what?
So...now I guess you were suggesting an alternative to Guitar Pro. Now you aren't even making sense. For the record, though, when somebody asks me for a way to do something, I tend not to go out of my way to find the worst possible method to do it - although I understand such principles may be confusing for your kind.
You strike me as a person who judges people on the basis of what operating system they use...
Uh....okay? You strike me as a person who likes strawberries.
I find it quite amusing, stupid even, that someone can get worked up over choice of software to the point of making insults about homosexuality. No one remarked on your sexuality, but even if we did, none of us has a problem with the fact that you are gay. No idea what you're saying in the rest of this quote, though, or how it relates to your homosexuality - but just rest assured that we accept you. Honestly, if any of us has a problem with you, it's only because you're an idiot.
Now excuse me, I have to go to work: a place where if you try to start an argument over GUITAR TAB VIEWING SOFTWARE, well, they'd never hire someone with that level of pettiness in the first place.
Yeah, I hear WalMart is getting pretty strict these days. Like I said, stop posting, and eventually we'll forget that you're a dumbass. Then, everyone (myself included) will accept you, so long as you refrain from any impulses to be stupid. Just relax, don't get all worked up. However, just a little friendly advice, old sport: Next time you want to help someone, ascertain the best solution to their problem, not the worst solution. It can be confusing at first, I know. Once you ascertain the best solution, make sure you share that one. It may not be immediately obvious, but that is, in fact, the best way to help people. Now, let's discuss Moon Marguerite - that is the topic at hand, you know. Pay attention to the bass line in the tab - it can be difficult to hear on the recording, and that's a shame.

Nice cover.
By posting a response at all you've already lost the facade of being above stupid arguements, or on some higher level of maturity.
Read what I wrote. It wasn't about being above stupid arguments. It was about the one-sided argument over GUITAR TAB VIEWING SOFTWARE being stupid. Nothing about stupid arguments in general.
See the reason the "you started it" arguement never works is
Ah, but my argument is not that you or sheer started it, but that I didn't start it. I think it's a pertinent argument and it works because you accuse me of being an asshole to everyone but the evidence shows I'm not the one picking fights out of nowhere and the only TWO people I'm being an asshole to does not constitute "everyone".

You may have missed that part, but you seem to have read the part "it's as good as Guitar Pro in all cases" which you injected into my post in your head. See when the problem is checking whether a file is corrupted or not, I think it's better just to do a quick and dirty check. For MY kind, getting a small job done with little to no overhead is very important. No sense in nuking ants - although I understand such principles may be confusing for your kind. Next time someone needs to open a file just to make sure nothing's wrong with it, I'll go tell them to get the software that will help them to become a guitar tabbing god. Or how about this? Next time someone needs to open a text file, I'll go tell them to open up Microsoft Word. Or how about this? Next time someone needs to run a webserver from their home, I'll just tell them to buy a million dollar mainframe from IBM with all the reliability a bank needs. Or how about this? Next time someone gets caught downloading 24 songs illegally, I'll go and advise the RIAA to sue for $54 million in damages. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It may take a while, but you'll see that the principle of using the small option for a very small task is not that hard to learn.

I don't remember the last time we had someone who was this easy to troll on IM (might've been Utsu in his younger days). That was hilarious.

Meh, at least you admit it. Strange though that I was able to (unintentionally) provoke an essay response out of you in the beginning...*
Well it's been fun and all, but now I've got to get back to work. And then later get back to scoring out "Beyond the Moon" in <shudder> TuxGuitar and converting the rest of my tabs to GP5**.
* Trolling: you're doing it wrong ** Seeing as how TuxGuitar is beyond the brain power of some people to use.

Then wtf are you doing here? Maybe you don't get it but most everyone here knows everyone else, both here and outside. This isn't a forum for cooking recipies, so i'm not sure what you hope to accomplish with your master plan of being a dick. You strike me as a guy who takes life WAY too seriously, thats not going to do you any favors around here because this is a very light hearted forum.

Re: Moon Marguerite
You're still going at it?
Again, the evidence shows I was not the one aiming to be a dick. I did not provoke either you or sheer's response, you are responsible for your own actions. I merely reciprocated your treatment of me. You guys can dish it out but can't take it - that's like the exact definition of a "fucking pansy".*
Like I said, I'm here for the exchange of tabs (I requested a few and have offered to score up any song from the band scores), not to be in a circle jerk between you and sheer. Maybe it makes you feel big to take your schoolyard bully wannabe issues to an internet forum. That's not why I'm here, but I'm not going to be left out of this "lightheartedness": I give as I get.
* See? I can be as lighthearted as the two of you supposedly have shown by "trolling" me.

No, see theres a difference between whiney and lighthearted. Good luck with that 'exchange of tabs' thing though.
