Dead again. Mediafire sucks, use Megaupload. Or send it to me and i'll host it for you.

Re: Moon Marguerite
As much as Mediafire sucks* (and it sucks a lot), Megaupload sucks equally as well. I have not yet found a good upload site, but I am going to try my luck with this new one: http://filevo.com/d888ketsfkpi.html*I only use it because Mare apparently has problems with other sites, and this is the only one that seems to work for him.

Re: Moon Marguerite
Other sites work for me. I don't see why you don't simply create an account so that you can have all your uploads nicely organized and available for so long as you log in what, once a month? I figure you probably upload things often enough that it shouldn't even be an issue.

Re: Moon Marguerite
Whether one makes an account or not is irrelevant to the fact that Mediafire is a terrible file upload site. I guess the best one currently is rapidshare, which is abhorrent. The website I linked should be the first good one, however. Like imgur (the only good image hosting site), filevo was created by a redditor to address deficiencies with current file upload sites (of which there are too many to name).

Rapidshare is good only if you have a premium account. They're quick to delete files that don't get much traffic.
Seriously, i'll host it direct for you if you want me to. No captcha's or waiting BS.

It's Java-Eclipse based, but apparently they also have Windows versions compiled into native code so it might not be so slow.

Re: Moon Marguerite
TuxGuitar kinda sucks. A lot. If you can get GP5, do it.

Re: Moon Marguerite
Yes, but $40 is a bit much to pay if you're just interested in looking at the tab.
It's also why I've moved to learning straight off the books and ASCII tabs. Creating a tab on TuxGuitar... is as unpleasant as doing anything else in Eclipse-based environments.

Ahem...$200 is a bit much to pay for Microsoft Office, and $400 is a bit much to pay for Adobe Photoshop...but there are other avenues of acquisition.

That goes without saying.
That's why I didn't say it.

Re: Moon Marguerite
Then don't mislead people by pretending that TuxGuitar is an option. It's not. It's a piece of shit.

Re: Moon Marguerite
The original problem was that someone didn't have a program to open the file. I presented a quick option to that particular problem. I didn't sell it as an alternative to Guitar Pro - that's just you putting words in my mouth. I even agreed that it's a bad program so there was no misleading of any sort, at least on my part.

The only thing anyone's put in your mouth is a cold, wet penis. Think about that for a second.
Your first exercise in inanity was to suggest TuxGuitar in the first place. If someone asked you how to acquire soda from a vending machine, it seems like you would suggest to them to buy a hammer for $5, break open the machine, and take a Cherry Coke. Most people would just suggest putting $1.25 in the machine, even if it "goes without saying" - but if it "went without saying," you wouldn't need to provide an answer in the first place, now would you?
Well, okay - but if you were responding under the presumption that the obvious solution was piracy (as it is), then you wouldn't have made a subsequent post justifying your suggestion for TuxGuitar by saying that "Guitar Pro costs too much." Obviously, the two options are Guitar Pro 5 and TuxGuitar - if you're suggesting TuxGuitar, then you are per se selling it as an alternative to Guitar Pro, even if you acknowledge that it sucks balls.
Just stop posting - eventually, we'll forget how stupid you are and accept you into our community.
