 Re: Pied Piper
man, i worked on this song for and hour or so, but just for fun. i already know how to play most of if, but i've just tabbed some of it, like intro, and the small part before sawao start singing. i was just about to post here when i read that you don't want straight answers, but tips... well, my first tip would be for you to try an easier song. this one has a broken tempo, it has some tricks that demand some practice and the chords might be a little confusing, as i can see you've mistaken them when you made your try. i'm really tired now and i have to go. in some other time i might be able to make some small corrections so you can see in what ways you should walk. but that intro could be a goo excercise for your ears. pay attention on how manabe hit all the strings with his pick, but at the same time using his left hand to mute many strings (3 of them). But even muting 3 strings, there are still 3 other ones. try to listen what strings are being played and what frets are fixed by his fingers. also, you won't get to anywhere if you guitar isn't in tune. make sure of that and you will see that the 6 you wrote at the beginning isn't a 6, but a 7. and the first string (e) isn't played there, at least not in the beginning of the intro. i'll reveal that the D string is played in the 9th fret for that first chord. now when he moves his arm through the guitar neck and plays the second chord, try to figure out the strings he plays and what frets.
good luck

 Re: Pied Piper
hmmm, not really. the horns will probably get you confused. or... you will tab something that is really wrong. i think you should start with something simple and see if you get it 100%. there's no need on start with a fast and mixed song. try something like... Girls Don't Cry, Vain Dog (In Rain Drop), Monster C.C., Subhuman, Frontiers, Orange Film Garden, maybe Bad Dreams for training riffs, etc. etc. that's a lot already if you try hard on each of them. then you have chords, riffs with one, two, three strings at the same time, solos, briges, variations, bends, slides, etc...
at the same time, i always prefer tabbing something i like than something someone sugests or asks for. if you like these songs i said here, go for them. and tab them as you're gonna play them for someone, and not something that can be acceptable and sounds something like the original. listen and listen again. sometimes you know there's something wrong. so stop for a while and try again later. or search for the same riff or chord, but in another part of the song. sometimes a chord or riff can be better noted if you search for it for example, while manabe is playing the solo (then sawao's guitar will be easier to be listened to). and never forget that you have 2 sound sources. try filtering the sound to only one sound source, then to another. many of their songs have each guitar in one side.
if that's not the case, if don't give a shit for those songs, ok. then go for your songs. just take in mind what i said about tabbing. it's been 2 years since you put your hands on a guitar. that's such a time, but at the same time that's not much. so sit down and practice a lot what you've learned. maybe it's a bit early but it's a good thing that you're trying to make tabs. most of the songs that i actually know i tabbed myself.

 Re: Pied Piper
i usually don't mind for that because i know the bandscores are pretty trustable. i don't wanna waste my time and patience on that knowing that later someone'll show up with a gp file with the bandscore partitures.
