A new US tour was announced at the FLCL panel of Momocon.

Adult Swim will be sponsoring a US tour starting in [b]July[/b].

Although it was announced as a "seven city tour", it seems like that was a mistake.

The tour name is "MONO ME YOU SUN". It might seem nonsensical, but it's actually a pun.
Phonetically, it's the same as the Japanese word "monomiyusan" (物見遊山).
"Monomiyusan" means to go on a trip for pleasure or sight-seeing.

Probably, I will buy a plane ticket if they don't come to Texas this time, though they probably will...

I need to watch a recording of the pannel again because I swear that both my boyfriend and I heard “June” but that makes no sense! Aaah >< I should of listened closer. They also said ticket info would be on the Toonami site. They showed an interview with the pillows in which basically Sawao did all the talking. They asked them just some basic questions about flcl and ride on shooting star. I assume that will be uploaded on the Toonami youtube channel soon. They also showed the first episode of progressive. Which I will say was much better than that dissapointing alternative preview.

Considering they're on the 3rd movement tour until the end of June it wouldn't make sense.

I mean it's totally possible for them to fly out to America shortly after the 23rd in order to play the first date on like the 30th or something. But yeaaaaaah June seems a bit soon...like, do you want a bit more time to promote the tour? I have a feeling that if the tour is in a month, a lotta people might not hear about it.

Thank God. The trailers for [i]Progressive[/i] have definitely made it look better than [i]Alternative[/i], so I'm glad that's actually the case. btw, any status report on the soundtrack, like what Pillows songs were in Progressive ep 1?

Hope the band brings along some CDs for US fans (hopefully all of the recent Delicious Label tour-exclusive singles)! Perhaps they'll be releasing that new non-album single they've been preparing? (I was surprised when it wasn't on the merch list for [i]Return to Third Movement Vol. 2[/i])

It's gonna be dope bomb diggity, I cannot wait to spend all my cash on groupie following the pillows around on the final huge US tour.

Oh my God, I would definitely take a few weeks off to just follow The Pillows to every US date. Since this might be their last US tour ever, it'd definitely be worth seeing every set that you can.

As for the songs in the first episode of progressive, Thank You, My Twilight is the first thing you hear!
Followed by what I believe was non-fiction played softly behind a classroom scene. Then right before the credits they played a new recording of Little Busters. Sadly this season will also be plagued by terrible filler rock music :\ That’s what they used for the rest of the episode.

yessssss all awesome songs. thanks for letting us know! i'm looking forward to finding out which Pillows songs will be in each week's episode. it'll be like a hype train building up towards the CD OST release.

btw i really hope the version of "Star Overhead" in the credits of [i]Alternative[/i] is just a TV-size version and not the full version. that song is way too good to be only <2 minutes long.

But wow, we're really talking June or July? That's short notice. Last show of the 3rd Movement Tour is June 23rd, and then they're due back for another show in Japan on August 8th. That's a really short window, and I'm kind of surprised that this has gotten thrown together so quickly. It certainly doesn't leave a lot of time to plan. But I'll have to make it work out somehow.

Thrown together quickly? This has been in the works for some time, imo. Sawao talked pretty boldly of his plans to come back here this year back in Febuary 2017 on his podcast, I imagine that they were already starting to discuss the possibilities and figure out when and how to make this work (or at least thinking about it) at that point!

That might be true, but announcement/promotion is part of a tour, and to announce it just a month before is what he's probably referring to. I'm sure the Adult Swim promotion will mitigate that though, they'll probably push the tour hard once FLCL premiers.
