The FLCL Progressive and Alternative OST will be released on September 5th. It will contain the 14 tracks.
Releasing simultaneously is the "COMPLETE CD-BOX", which will contain 89 tracks (the non-pillows music and others, I guess).

hmmm...Amazon says Fool on Cool Generation will have 2 theme songs, 11 vocal songs, and 1 instrumental. soooo they didn't do vocals for one of the pillows songs? which one?

also gotta remember to budget so that i can get both the FLCL soundtrack and Rebroadcast within the week of their release dates. not waiting for a whole month again like i did with Nook last year. i think Amazon Japan has stopped accepting orders from Australia but fortunately, From Japan has DHL Express too! (and i think their DHL rate is comparable to Amazon's?)

Probably Non-Fiction (We also haven't heard Shiroi Natsu vocals yet, but only segments of the intro have been used in what's released so far. Non-Fiction used portions of the song that normally have vocals).

Actually, parts of the verse and chorus were used in [i]Progressive[/i] ep 3, and there were no vocals. I'm worried that "Shiroi Natsu" is indeed the instrumental because of the way the band re-arranged it for the "Fool on Cool Version"; the verses are pretty different from the album version (esp. with regard to drums and bass), perhaps to accommodate a lack of vocals?

Does anybody ever see a site with track listings for these sorts of releases? It would be cool to check out all the instrumental tracks on the 3 CD set, but I want the 14 track single CD version for all the vocal cuts. Would be nice to know if one of the three CDs in the set is the 14 track disc, and then the other two are the BGM for Alternative and Progressive, which makes sense to me but who knows if they would actually do it that way :/

If you look at [url=https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/91LU12vgXfL.jpg]this image of the [i]Complete CD-Box[/i][/url], it literally says on the discs "Disc 1 - The Pillows", "Disc 2 - Alternative" and "Disc 3 - Progressive". So it makes sense that disc 1 will be the exact same disc as [i]Fool on Cool Generation[/i] (with the 14 Pillows songs), and discs 2 and 3 would be the BGM original score instrumentals by R・O・N. I'm like 99% sure that this is how the tracks are gonna be laid out.

btw one of the 14 Pillows tracks on [i]Fool on Cool Generation[/i] / the first disc of the [i]Complete CD-Box[/i] doesn't have vocals (it's most likely "Non Fiction").

This is good news, although I;'m surprised there isn't a domestic release. I remember buying the first two FLCL OST's in your typical suburban mall. And they sold good. With the reaction the show's premiere and the pillows' tour got here in the states, I'm surprised that it wasn't coming out here at the same time it was in Japan.

I also thought it'd be good idea for Rebroadcast to have a release in the States, much like they did with Penalty Life and My Foot. I've always wondered what the sales of those American releases were. Maybe they were so low it deterred the pillows from ever trying for American releases again?

So, the Amazon exclusive "deka jacket" is actually just a large sized (smaller than LP size) image of the jacket printed on cardboard. I was kind of expecting an LP style case for the CD similar to some others that I have. Don't mind much though, since I'm not into FLCL at all.
