Re: THE PREDATORS 5th ALBUM 「ROCK’N’ROLL PANDEMIC」 So I read a 6-page Natalie.mu interview with the Predators yesterday, and apparently most of the songs this time were written by Jiro (although he never writes the lyrics, either in Glay or in Predators), but "Start!" was written by the drummer, Takahashi. Sawao wrote Bite and Fight, which he described as being a "trivial" song, lol.
As you can see from the album cover, this time around they're going for a Ramones thing instead of a Nirvana thing, since apparently after four albums of Nirvana-esque stuff, they felt they'd kind of hit the limit on that. When asked if they were looking to do new things with the Predators this time around, they replied that they weren't particularly looking to evolve the band or anything, since this is just a project they do for fun and want to be relaxed for them. So they just go for "good enough" takes in the studio instead of worrying about if they can still get a better one, they don't worry about evolving the sound; they just want to make fun music together and bring a fun live show to people.
Quite interested in seeing what Takahashi's song sounds like, haha.

Re: THE PREDATORS 5th ALBUM 「ROCK’N’ROLL PANDEMIC」 it's certainly different in that way, but thankfully not out of place thanks to its brisk pace, which fits well with the rest of the EP. i hope "Start" and "Typhoon Jenny" stay on the end of future Predators sets; they really struck gold with those two songs, as imo the band didnt have any really strong closing songs up until this EP.
