Not sure how I feel about Tokai no Alice making the cut rather than a new track, but it's a decent enough song and I'll wait and see how it fits in on there.

I don't know why, but seeing the track titles just completely robbed me of my enthusiasm for this release. About a Rock N' Roll Band and Happy Birthday are decent songs. Not really a fan of Alice. Who knows how the other 8 will go. I don't want to be a downer, so obviously I'll just wait until we have some clips or something. But let's just say that song titles like "Break a time machine!" don't exactly inspire confidence.

Kind of cool that the name is "Moondust". I guess it's a nod to Moon Gold.

If one of the Happy Birthday b-sides had to be on it, I'd rather have Quarter bakugeki no tomo. But I guess I'll have to listen to the album to understand the flow.

OOPARTS II

Bleh, why would you put Tokai no Alice on the album? And honestly, why put Happy Birthday on the album? That would've worked better ass a stand alone single. I really wish we had some magazine articles or something to read on recent interviews with the band. Has anything changed in Sawao's musical approach? I thought that I read somewhere this past year that even he and the other band members thought things were getting stale, which is why they went on that very short hiatus after Trial.

I shouldn't be judging a book by its cover, and I swear I'm not, but the song titles make it sound like a Sawao solo album, and those weren't exactly the greatest things ever. But from the three songs we've already heard from this album... my hopes really aren't the highest for this being excellent. Just OK, I suppose.

I agree.

And I, too, wonder about Sawao's approach. We made a big deal out of that soundbite, where Sawao was talking about their recent "staleness". Let's hope it wasn't just a bunch of crap.

Tokai no Alice is great as a b-side. But just as a b-side. lol

Anyways, let's see what the quality of this "Moondust" song is. It can still best Trial, which would be a good album, if you ask me.

Give me anything close to TRIAL or Happy Birthday and I'll be happy.

I approve of everything in this post, just wanted to say.

They've been super busy lately, but they've also had a lot of time to work on the writing for this album, so hopefully nothing's going to be too lazy other than the unnecessary b-side inclusion.

I preordered it on amazon since it's finally listed on there.

Those titles are harshing my mellow, like, fo' real.

But I'll wait til clips to judge as always, I'm just glad they're releasing an album, tbh. I wish they'd come back to the US. I feel like I'm in that ever familiar slump where I don't really listen to the pillows as much, and I need a heaping dose.

By "titles" do you guys mean "titles we've seen before?" Cause I dunno about you all, but I think "Clean Slate Revolution" sounds fresh (oh who am I kidding, it's going to be this album's No Surrender) and "Break a time machine!" sounds super dope

Well, they do seem less pillows-like and more Sawao solo album like.

We'll see what this means. I wish About a Rock'n'Roll Band was a bit better, but it's a solid single. I wouldn't put it above Happy Birthday though. Tokai no Alice is good... We just have to wait and see what some of these new album tracks sound like. Hopefully some PVs will pop up in the coming weeks.
