Post subject:  A glimpse on unreleased songs

I found this Japanese Yahoo blog that contains a post with information of current unreleased songs and previous unreleased songs.

The first part of the post (現在未発表曲) is for the current unreleased songs while the second part of the post (元未発表曲) is for the previous unreleased songs.

It will be very much appreciated if anyone can translate any section of the post! I can only translate what period the songs came from.

I'd set all my Pillows CDs on fire for a chance to hear Future.

Damn, I posted on this guys blog in English... I'm friggin dying to ehar these songs... especially My Song is Your Song, since apparently it says it was played on the Poison Rock n roll show. Would love to know which one. Also, some other interesting tidbits show that You Stood Like an Angel was actually an older song from the second phase which was rerecorded for Good Dreams. Damn I'd like to know where he got all this info.

Not much info here that I didn't already know. It says that Henri Verdoux was the prototype for Akanai tobira no mae de according to "2ch information". I could see that... I've suspected that other unreleased songs could be similar cases; earlier versions of songs that evolved into something better. I think this is more likely than Future being some mind-blowing song from their golden era. I guess I can only speculate for now, since I haven't heard even a second of some of these.

Yep. It was also uploaded on Youtube and Nicodouga before, but I guess it was removed because I can't find it anymore. I'll get it reuploaded unless someone beats me to it. Gotta find my backups.
To my knowledge, the only songs on the list that we don't have recordings of are NEVER ON AIR, Future and Boku dake no Mona Lisa.

We had a live version on youtube before, but the link's been taken down. ...It was on the very first post for the pillows videos on youtube thread.

Here's a new upload of Henri Verdoux no shogai.
That Yamanaka sure loves Chaplin.

It would have been really cool to get an actual studio recording of this, even though we already have Akanai.

Oh, shit! Return of the green jacket!

Edit: Hadn't listened to this in forever. It does sound very similar in parts to Akanai Tobira no Mae de, but it's different enough overall to be its own song. Very enjoyable. I agree that a studio recording would have been great.

Saying that it was the prototype for Akanai might have been just an assumption.

Some of the riffs are VERY similar to Akanai... So I would say that's a good assumption.

When the time comes and we can hear these unreleased tracks, I know for sure my heart will explode. Until then it was great talking to you all. No regrets :shred:

I was wondering recently what it must have been like to be a Japanese pillows fan in the band's early days. Like, how did they react to new albums and stuff? What was the community like in the days before the internet?

Moreover, did older fans listen to stuff like Kool Spice and bitch about how "THIS DOESN'T SOUND LIKE RAZORLIKE BLUE AT ALL"?

There are probably a fair number of older Japanese fans who have heard these songs. It's a shame we can't really connect with them. I bet a lot of them have stories about these songs and their older live performances. Or maybe not. But it's fun to speculate.
