I notice my old go-to spot HMV has most of the bandscores listed as "Will ship when in stock" while others have them flat out discontinued. What're the chances of me getting them if I place the order with HMV, or will it just be a debacle where they later tell me they can't get it and refund me or something.
Do different sites have different stock? (If one says something is discontinued, is it possible another site can get them?)
What are my other options?

I noticed a fairly long time ago that most places started going out of stock, and I'm talking maybe a year or two ago, so firstly, if you've noticed they were in stock more recently, maybe it's a sign it's a regular, temporary occurrence or something.

I had been trying to order from CDJapan, shortly after my bank got bought out by a different one, which happened not long after I got my Once Upon a Time band score. After that, my card wouldn't work for international stuff, so I went in and got the new card for the new bank, and was told that would work fine. It didn't, and by the time I had the notion to go sort it out, the books all started saying they were out of stock most everywhere I checked (though, thinking back, I probably didn't check many other places other than CDJapan and HMV).

But yeah, I guess think back to when you last knew the site for sure had them. Maybe it's a fluctuating pattern.

You might want to contact HMV themselves, or read their help articles, like this one: http://www.hmv.co.jp/help/002000015/ Probably two weeks depending on where you live, and how fast they can receive the item from one of their distributers before the dispatch. If your order has been delayed, they will let you know about it, and give you the option to choose whether you want to still continue waiting for the item until a month has passed or have your money fully refunded.

I'll keep looking around, they haven't been in stock since I'd started checking again over the summer, they just always say will ship when in stock. Which sounds bad, but the positive side of me wants it to be true.
The one I most want flat out says it can't be ordered, so that sucks...but thats also good in that the other ones don't say that, so maybe they can be ordered?

I'll look on all the sites I can think of. Last resort is going through like celga or something, but I'd rather not...

Thanks Bebop, yeah I would like WU!x3 and Pied Piper the most, and since they're oldest and more likely out of print, it's either going to be hard to find or extremely expensive.
90 bucks is real steep, I think even Celga would be less...

So after an extensive research which included googleing numerous different things and having at least 30 tabs open at once, I've concluded:
Horn Again and Ooparts easy to get
Rock Stock and Once Upon a Time...possible but maybe problemsome
Wake Up!x3 nearly impossible without paying ridiculous cost
Pied Piper impossible (of course)

this is all through major and minor merchants, I've yet to check with celga, which would really just be buying the used copies off amazon.jp, so it would be possible, though again, costly.

Why didn't I buy these when I had the chance??

Definitely hope they come out with a Trial one soon too.

EDIT: though time consuming, would anyone with any band scores past My Foot be willing to scan? It's a pain but I've seen it done on a few other bands sites and it'd be very nice to have floating around for everyone imo.
I would do the Best Collection or My Foot if wanted/needed/no one else is willing.

While not scanned, I did upload Guitar Pro tabs for all the songs from the Once Upon A Time band score, save for the ones that were already done from the Best Collection band score, and after some feedback and re-editing, they ought to be pretty damn accurate. They should be around on the tabs subsection, if you don't already have them. Other than that, is there any other part of that one you'd want to see, or is it the sheet music itself you want scanned anyway? I've meant to scan a part in the back for a while now, so if you have a part you'd like, I'll try and get to it soon as I do that. Keep in mind I'm on dial-up most of the time, so it'd be a bit before I could upload somewhere.

While we're on it, the part I want to scan is a long list of all the live shows they've done since 1989 up to the period were the band score was released in 2009, and for everything since then, I imagine the setlist archive website is accurate and complete, so we'd be able to have a very complete history of the band in tremendous detail in that regard (even more so if someone could translate all the different venues and such). Maybe this information is already up somewhere though, and I don't have to scan it. Anyone know? Also, I'm wondering if the other band scores have something like this. I assume the Rock Stock one, of course, but can anyone confirm about the others?

Iirc, both the Best Collection and My Foot have that same thing in the back, along with complete discography, and like a one page music theory lesson in Japanese. I figured it'd just be the same exact list you have there, but with yours being more updated...
I love just looking at the pictures and everything, but if you could just scan the gear page that'd suffice and I'd love you.

It's got a couple pictures here and there, one from a photo shoot from the release a song is from. Looking into it now, I don't see a gear page. I thought that might be what you were after. They might not have put one on this one because it's just a straight compilation, and the gear would've been different for almost every song. The Rock Stock one might be a different story, since it has some new recordings on it, but I don't have that one. Drat.

Anyhow, it goes: contents page, the sheet music (stuck in the middle on one page is a 20th anniversary Buster-kun with the words "Thank you very much. I like you, Busters!" under him), biography (long list), Basic Theory of Band Score (3 pages), A Way of Reading Band Score (4 pages) (how I wished this were in English when I was trying to translate some of the notation into Guitar Pro functions, haha), and the credits page.

So no gear, but I'll scan the pictures when I can if you like.

EDIT: Oh, and about the Guitar Pro tabs for these songs, there was one where I recently changed it because it always sounded a bit off - Flag Star, E. Guitar II - section K. The second note was listed in the band score as being on fret 13, but that always sounded off, so I looked at it again not long ago and found the book made an error: where it says on the tab part it's the thirteenth fret, the notation just above it says it's a step higher, which would be on the fifteenth fret. I'll update it when I can upload stuff again, but in the meantime, if you download 'em, you can just change it and call it good.

You don't have to spend your time scanning the other pics, the gear pics are most what I was after.
