It's not bad. There's one or two boring songs and three quite good tracks. The rest is alright. |

Hm I thought there would have been more excitement for Devil's Pub and Youth Club (if you're a chatmonchy fan.) |

Just listened to this shit. Devil's Pub was pretty cool, guys. Way better than that excerpt from the PV led me to believe. First two tracks were pretty much completely throw away for me. Short and gimmicky. Catchy enough to warrant a couple go backs though. Maybe they'll catch? Rehabilitation wasn't as good as I was hoping it'd be, but still alright. Doll was useless, and pretty much a slight variation to Silent Ballerina and that instrumental track the pillows did ("Night Waltz" or whatever from the Walkin on the Spiral DVD). Um... the track with Chatmonchy was alright... I enjoyed all of the instrumental parts more than the harmonization between the chick and Sawao. Uh... Absurd Song sounded pretty ridiculous (lol "absurd", the point?) in Engrish. I found myself laughing at how retarded Sawao sounded. It was funnier because I could actually understand most of what he said, so it sounded pretty silly. "TEADUS MAN" lololol Kashima kicked some ass on this album, and that definitely saved a lot of ground. Also, I like the way Sawao incorporates guitar work. It saves the tracks from falling flat on their faces. Pretty much full of arpeggiations of chords, but with Kashima jamming out, it sounds really good. Also, I'm glad the English was pronounced more clearly this time around... somewhat. |

Pretty decent album. Nothing particularly great, but nothing particularly bad (well, except for The Beautiful Lip and Absurd Song. Those were pretty damn bad). After the third track, I was surprised at the acoustic and mellow vibe the album took on. First 3 tracks were pretty misleading. I should mention that I never listened to the samples (it spoils an album, in my opinion), so I went in listening to this album completely fresh. Vacant House and The Beautiful Lip sound like they could have been Predator rejects, but songs like Old Sundial, Rehabilitation and Do You Like a Walk? were rather nice. I like to give an album some time before I make a firm opinion on it, but I already prefer Tedious Man over Discharge (I have a low opinion on Discharge, though). Thanks for posting it, Chubby. ![]() |

Even though this album is somewhat 'softer' or more 'low key' than Discharge, I still love it. I expected Discharge pt.2, but this is great too. Devil's Pub and Youth Club are the best tracks imo, the rest is pretty good too except for Beautiful Lip which I found downright boring |

I feel stupid. I still can't understand most of his English haha. It sounds like cat meowing to me, but I love cats so that's not important. Devil's Pub was easily my favorite. Plus being Bean the video was particularly hilarious to me. Though I'm not sure where Sawao is trying to go with all these goofy songs. I'll know how to feel better once I know what the hell he's saying. More Kashima plz. Youth Club was also particularly lovely. I thought the album as a whole was pretty chill. It's good as filler music in your itunes or whatever. It seems more fun and I certainly like it more than Discharge. It's music you do your homework to. It's not terrible exactly. It's just... fine. Only fine. I'll listen to the more easy going tracks out of pure pillows loyalty. As mentioned, I'll have more concrete opinions once I know what he's saying. As much as I like music, I love words more. I like it a lot so far right though. |

Album suffers from some slow moments, but I think it's one of the best things Yamanaka has put out in a long time. The first half of the album out-pillows the pillows. |

I actually really liked the second half of the album. Rehabilitation, Do You Like a Walk? Youth Club, Absurd Song are all really good. Absurd Song in particular. YOU WANNA KNOW MY BROOD TYPE? OH DAS RIGHT IT'S "B" |

Yeah, I like the second half, too, but the first half is pretty much upgraded pillows material, whereas the latter half is more Sawao's own new directions. |
