 Cover show in NYC
Any interest in doing our own pillows cover show in NYC around tour time? Who is in the area that actually plays music? The Charm Facers said it would be interesting if we did a free show with a few other musicians and do a pillows/other j-rock cover night, then invite all the East Coasters from the fan pages who would not be attending the California shows...

Re: the pillows 2010 US Tour!!!
That'd be pretty sweet if you guys did that.
But now that you're suggesting it, does this mean there's absolute zero chance of any more shows being announced in other cities? Because then I need to get a move on and start making plans to get out to Cali.

I'm so down. That'd be fantastic.

We could even do requests.... before hand of course, see what songs people would want to hear so it would be worth their while...

Yeah fuck it, flying over there is asking too much for too little. MAH MONIES are going towards stuff I've been overlooking that needs replaced or upgraded, like an electric razor, three-ball bag and shoes, maybe even a new ball. The Motiv SR-2 and TX-1 balls in particular have my interest level very high at the moment. To LBG: Sounds like a nice gesture but I'm currently not interested.

Where exactly in the city do you think you will be able to afford to put on a pillows cover show?

Cloudy, what would influence you to get involved? Sheer, our band has a residency at a bar right next to Penn Station. All shows performed there are free of charge

Hmm, well perhaps I could hit up Dorney Park again since I got rained out when I went in 2006. Sucks that the Laser moved to Germany in 2008. Talon and Hydra's Revenge are fucking awesome, though. I would still like to check out MoMA, NYC shopping/exploring, possible meeting, etc. I'll keep it in mind.

Re: the pillows 2010 US Tour!!!
I'm not worried about my band playing any of the pillows' songs, the trick is how many other musical contributions could we get out? Do you think those who are upset about no NYC show would want to see a cover band perform songs? That is second rate after all...
Son Goshin, make your plans for California, no NYC show.

Make a video, post it online, show them the fans are there.
I know if given the choice between seeing a show with bands doing covers I like that I wouldn't refuse to go simply because the actual band isn't there. that's dumb.
you'd probably draw a good crowd of tri-state area fans. no reason to not at least check the show out when one can just hop a train into city.
