Couple of the character's name in the new anime K-On! are derived from the band members

Sawako Yamanaka (山中 さわ子 ,Yamanaka Sawako?)
Voiced by: Asami Sanada
Sawako is the adviser for the wind instrument club at Yui's school. Since she does not want people to know she wanted to be in a heavy metal band in the past, she becomes the adviser of the light music club, though it is unknown whether she stopped being the adviser for the wind instrument club as well. She enjoys cosplaying in the light music club. Her surname is taken from Sawao Yamanaka, the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for The Pillows.

Nodoka Manabe (真鍋 和 ,Manabe Nodoka?)
Voiced by: Chie Tōdō
Nodoka is Yui's childhood friend and she is a member of the student council. Her surname is taken from Yoshiaki Manabe, lead guitarist for The Pillows.

That's actually a good way of describing the show.

I was going to mention this when I watched it last week, but kept on forgetting. I love one of the lines one of the girls say:

I have a soft spot for music-based anime, so I'm hoping it turns out good. (Here's also hoping Sawao makes a cameo of sorts in it.)

only noticeable difference is my girlfriend is korean/has normal, dark hair.
