the pillows 20th Anniversary Overload! New Releases
OK, I think I'm going crazy. Am I SERIOUSLY the first person to see this stuff? the pillows official website (at least the splash page) is revamped. There are count them FOUR (4) new additions to the Late Bloomer Series! What appears to be the third volume is called "Rock Stock And too smoking the pillows" and if you click on the little Buster kun with the 20 at the bottom of the page, you can see more information about it, PLUS more info about the 6th volume in the Late Bloomer Series, that being the 20th Anniversary 916 show, Lostman Go To Budokan! And better yet, there's about a 5 second clip of a new song! So many questions right now. What the hell is Late Bloomer 3 about? What is this 1989 song on the tracklisting, along with these "Rock stock" versions of classic songs? What is Late Bloomer 4 about? New album? Seriously, I'm on fucking overload right now trying to comprehend this all EDIT OK, so CDJapan has "Once a Upon Time in the pillows" up, and it's coming out 6/3! http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=KICS-1469 I guess it's another Greatest Hits album with a brand new song on it, Flag Star. The tracklisting is on the 20th anniversary page and seems to have been put out by King Records, which would explain why there's nothing past My Foot on there. That stil leaves me wondering what "Rock stock and too smoking the pillows" could be...

All it shows is the covers to the first 4 Late Bloomer Series. What you need to click on is the little Busterkun at the bottom of the page to see the real good stuff. Go here: http://pillows.jp/20th

Re: the pillows 20th Anniversary Overload! New Releases
Looks like the Rock stock & too smoking the pillows is a collection of classic pillows songs re-recorded? Like a huge-ass Turn Back, plus a new song on it. Looks like only five of the songs are re-recorded though, the rest are the original recordings, and the new song "Ichi Kyuu Hachi Kyuu" (1989; it says that it is to be read as the individual numbers).
Flag Star might be an unreleased older track from the King Records period. I am so fucking getting these. DAMN YOU, PILLOWS.
Also, fucking awesome that they're doing Budoukan for the 20th Anniversary Live. God fucking damn, this is awesome.

Re: the pillows 20th Anniversary Overload! New Releases
When are tickets available? I'm trying to plan a trip and have found flights and am wondering where I can purchase tickets to the show? Any help would be appreciated. I'm not going to miss their 20th Anniversary.

Getting tickets to any pillows show is rather tricky. Getting tickets to their 20th Anniversary show will be absurdly difficult. Not impossible, but definitely REALLY hard.

Re: the pillows 20th Anniversary Overload! New Releases
OH SHIT!
"1989 PV"
OHGODOHGODOHGODOHGOD
It doesn't seem to make sense to release a "Best of" when they already released LMGTY... especially one that only has fourteen tracks (I'm talking about "Once Upon a Time in the pillows"). These must all be re-records, right? Also... the version of Rock Stock that comes with a DVD has a PV from 1989 on it!
the pillows really are going all out!

Honestly, I don't really want to see a re-recording of classics like Swanky Street and One Life. They should be left as is. We all know Sawao's voice isn't the best anymore, and I think those two songs have some of his best vocals on them. If they want to re-record more songs, they should go farther back in their discography again. Are those what the other songs are in katakana? I can't read those as my katakana is not good at all. Also, that Anniversary release tab on the bottom of the page is working for me now, and it says that there's a special bonus live on the Blue Poppies DVD, with a set list including Beehive and Nowhere! I've been waiting forever to see live video of those songs! What exactly are tracks 6 and 8 though?

Re: the pillows 20th Anniversary Overload! New Releases
I'm torn on whether I want Rock Stock. The new ending to One Life is balls-to-the-wall epic, but re-recording Funny Bunny? You can't outdo perfection.

Yeah, I don't want a rerecording of Funny Bunny... It just isn't a good idea.
BUT, the CD comes with a DVD with a 1989 PV. That has me sold.

Oh dear god please let me see Paper Triangle, please let it be as mind blowing as Tokyo Zombie in PPGTY Also, listen to the 20th anniversary page, Sawao's voice sounds wayyy different in the Swanky Street part, this is definetly a re-recording, but I'm not complaining
