 Why do you listen to the pillows? Hello IM. First of all, Happy 916! I have some question for all of our friends here.
Why do you listen to the pillows?
What makes you stay so glued to the sound of 3 japanese men, singing in a language you might not understand, in a way you might have never seen before?
Was it love at first sight? Did you get used to them over the times? What sets them aside from every other band, in your opinion?

Im better at expressing what music I dont like then the music I do like.
but seriously. The Pillows have everything I ever liked in bands. My favorite other bands have some of these aspects, but The pillows just have all of them.

Re: Why do you listen to the pillows? It was love at first listen. I think I'm one of the few people who didn'y get into them through FLCL. I read about them in a magazine when they were here for the first time in '05 I believe? Anyway, I picked up Penalty Life and fell in love.  THen I got the FLCL OST's and moved onto importing later. I don't know what it is exactly about them. The melodies are great, Sawao's voice is great, the instrumentation is great. They're just a great buncha guys.

I like a band that writes music that's inspirational and just makes you feel better when you listen to em. There are too many bands out there nowadays that sing about the same shit over and over again. Its refreshing to have a band like the pillows who write music that's easy and fun to listen to and actually makes you feel good about listening to em.
