ぺルシャ (PERUSHIYA) Yoshiaki Manabe on the far right. Google searches return jack shit, so I'm guessing they were pretty unpopular. Judging from the look they had, what was popular at the time (mid eighties, people) and the fact that apparently Manabe is a fan of Pantera, I'm guessing it was a metal band of some kind. I wish we could have gotten an album from them offa' Yahoo Japan, though. Last I checked, the owner of Tacky's Room (http://www.tackysroom.com/) owns a few albums from them. The Potato Chips Sawao Yamanaka on the left. On information, it's the same case as PERUSHIYA. A Yahoo Japan auction for this particular album mentioned that the band was formed during Yamanaka's High School years. The Pogo Shinichiro Sato on the left. Apparently (don't quote me on it) he played bass with The Pogo until December 1986. Kenzi & The Trips Shinichiro Sato (Bottom left) joined Jun Gray and Toshiki Sano to form a support group for the solo artist Kenji Hatta (aka Kenzi) in 1985. Come March of 1986, almost 9 full months before leaving The Pogo, Kenzi & The Trips (as they were later coined on live bills) turned Japan's punk scene on its ear with their debut LP "Bravo Johnny wa Konya mo Happy End". Kenji Ueda (Bottom right) later joined in 1988 for the album "Sweet Dreams, Baby!", replacing Jun Gray on bass before Kenzi & The Trips eventually split up for the first time in 1989 after having released Kangaroo. |

Just goes to show how friggin old they are. It's crazy how young they look right now, (with the exception of Sato, he looks considerably older) Does anyone some mp3 samples of them, especially the potato chips? |

Very nice. I'll agree with the masses here; we need to hear this stuff. Any leads? |

I'd really like to hear what Persia sounds like. I never would have guessed that Manabe would be into metal. |
