I like the pillows version better, both album and live.

On the other hand, while I like the pillows' version of Strange Chameleon better as far as album versions go, I think I prefer Mr. Children's version done live.

HOLY SHIT.

Mr. Children has to be THE worst band name I have ever heard come from the Asian Island of Poor English.

Anyway, Mr. Children's vocals are a little better than Sawao's, overall, despite Sawao's vocals being a little more consistent. Although Mr. Children's vibrato isn't very tidy, at least it exists. By comparison, Sawao's performances are rather flat and uninteresting.

In terms of where credit is due for this song, it almost entirely lies with Mr. Children. the pillows' cover isn't very innovative, but rather remains true to the original - a stripped-down version. However, I simply enjoy listening to the pillows' version more, so that's what I voted.

I like the pillows' studio version of Tsuyogari better than Mr. Children's because of Sawao's vocals.

listening to them next to eachother. There's alot more dynamic to The Pillows version and the chorus sounds much more robust than just turning the synthesizer up. Less seems to be more in this case.

Sawao is simply a better singer too. Sure the singer of mr. children sounds more expressive. But Sawao is vividly expressive and manages to stay in key, while playing a guitar! wut nao?!

on the subject of strange chameleon. I liked the Mr. Children cover until I read the translation of the lyrics. Then I saw the Mr. Children cover as not doing it proper justice.

I prefer the pillows' arrangement, but I think you'd be hard-pressed to say that Sawao's vocal performance live is better. Voting Mr. Children based solely on the lives.

Maybe I'm biased because I've actually been there when the song was performed live, but I like the pillows's performance better. Sawao really puts the emotion into the song, and I like the pillows's arrangement better.

My mind stopped at "pillows arrangement." My bad.

Yeah, it's fine. I'd pick the pillows' studio track over the original, but I voted based on a comparison of the live performances.

tbh, I like Mr. Children's vocals more. I don't really listen to the pillows for vocals. BUT, I didn't like Tsuyogari anyway. I don't really know why, but it didn't stick out as a very impressive song to me.

So I didn't vote over which one I liked better.
