These sound so much better in stereo:

Does anyone else hear a really ugly note from a guitar on the ru of kimi to shiawase ni naru on the left channel?
edit: Sawao is singing a C and I think he's playing D flat major. :dizzy:

that ugly sound is not ugly to me and it comes from the horn. it's just a common technique used by people who play it.

i'm a bit afraid to say i like across the metropolis, 'cause i know i can get disapointed with the rest of the song.

I don't hear any ugly notes. :/

And these do sound WAY better with the lead guitar audible.

There are definitely some dissonant notes there. It's the guitars I'm hearing. I hear C and D flat on both channels from the guitars.

I tried to hear them through laptop speakers and failed miserably.

IM: Grab some decent headphones, turn your volume up a little, and listen to Tokyo Bambi's RAM file. Pay special attention at 0:29 to 0:30. At 0:30 there is definitely some ugly dissonance going on...

Dude. Mare. You gotta hear this.

edit: It's between Sawao and one (or both) of the guitars, not the horns.
Maybe it's not technically "dissonant", but...something DOES sound "off" about it.

Real Player is seriously a bane to all of mankind. There is absolutely no excuse for it, and we are all worse off for its existence.

I hear the weird chord in Bambi. Whatever though.

Across the Metropolis now clearly is another cute twist on a Beatles song.

Holy crap. Upon hearing this sample on decent headphones, I suddenly think Tokyo Bambi kicks significantly more ass. Actually hearing what both guitars are doing and having the horns not overpowering the rest of the sound makes it a lot better for me.

It didn't make nearly as much of a difference for Go! Go! Jupiter, though. I still find it kind of bland, just clearer sounding now.

I'm intrigued by Across the Metropolis.

I had listened to it with headphones on, and I hear what you guys are complaining about, but didn't notice anything that sounded off or really discordant in any way. There's nothing musically out of the ordinary occuring right there.

What he's really saying is that he doesn't hear what you guys are complaining about. To be honest, I don't really either. Then again, I haven't really given it a good listen - but odds are, if you need to pay that much attention to hear it, it can't really be a problem.

I guess we'll actually find out when we get the band scores, though.
