Oh, and before the mods (or Rhino/Mare for that matter) stick me in an oven for what looks like spam, this is a legitimate thread concerning a legitimate topic.

Yeah, the graph is indicative of that.

your are wrong :O hte 2007 its the year that they have sold more albums and singles of the new stuff :O why creativity level is under 0 ??

The graph does not represent sales of any merchandise they sold. Be it shirts, concert tickets OR ALBUMS AND SINGLES!!!!!!!!

And it's under zero because his creativity is in the shitter.

I'd have to disagree. His creativity level is higher than most musicians out there. To be able to consistently create albums and singles over and over again at such a rate takes a HUGE amount of creativity. Whether you like the music or not is another topic.

In fact, he's been working on new songs even while touring.

"MY FOOT" as a song title/album tiltle clearly demands more creativity than is indicated. :)

Oh, I could never really get into Kool Spice, it seems kinda phony to me, 'cept for sha-la-la-la. Living Field, yes, yes, yes.

TYMT getting the nod over smile seems silly too, sure, there was a little bit of experimentation going on, but the record on the whole for me still seems bland. Smile has a great deal of what I would consider to be useful creativity.

I still think WU3 has something special to offer.

i agree with this but more so i agree with jedi's idea. its true that he has been throwing out singles and albums like no tomorrow, but the music would be much better and more creative if he took his time on one and released a really well thought out and...better album.

I don't want to degenerate this into an argument, but with all due respect you try writing a couple albums before deciding how much work the pillows put into their work. Because it's not just Sawao running a show by himself. This is the pillows working together to make the music they love, and they're doing a pretty darned good job at it, from what most of their fans believe.

I'd say My Foot and Wake up! are more creative than, say, Good Dreams. The dual-guitar thing was at least somewhat of an innovation for the pillows. Creativity-wise, Wake up, Serious Plan, and maybe Private Kingdom are probably the best songs on the new album. It's interesting to note that the first two are also Sawao's favorites from WU. Coincidence?

You are, however, dead-on about Ladybird Girl being a nosedive into fail. I don't consider it terribly creative to just plug tried-and-true chord progressions into pop-rock formulas without adding the interesting twists that Sawao used to implement more often.

Anyway, I disagree.

Personal taste is not an objective ground by which to measure another's creativity. The end.
