 Train your ears people.
I've been realizing more and more that people pay too much attention to just the guitars in all the songs. We need to acknowledge the other fine instruments in play such as Jun Suzuki's loud punchy bass and Sato's demonic drums.

Jun's bass, for the most part, is eay to learn so it's not asked much. I think drum is also a pain in the ass to tab...thought I can't be 100% since I don't play drums.

I agree. If you listen to Jun and Sato as well you'll notice a lot of intricate things.
For those of you with the bandscore, take a look at All the Way To The Edge of the World for bass...

well, i think that's partly because most of the people here play guitar... the songs are really guitar driven too.

I've been complaining about this for a while. People are so used to assuming "Shin and Jun just sit there" that they don't notice when there's good drumming or basswork going on.
Also, seconded on the kono yo no hate made, that's some rather nice basswork.

When Jun does something interesting, I listen. Give us another Funny Bunny and then expect Jun worship. Also, it's not unusual that people overlook the drummer, especially in rock bands.

I used to ignore drummers for the most part, until I heard Inazawa. Now I pay much more attention to what's going on with the pots and pans. Shinichiro really has his moments (Thunder Whales Picnic), but he's mostly more concerned with laying down a steady beat than doing anything too crazy.
I probably pay more attention to the bass during the Kashima years than any other instrument. I've never thought about Kenji's basslines that much, so that deserves some special listening.

I think the rabid adoration for kenji and the likes and sato love is proof this is not the case. useless topic

clouds is right. We've had plenty of Kashima fellation around here, so it's not like we only listen to the guitar and vocals. I'll give Mr. Munji a chance to respond to all this, but more than likely I'm going to lock this thread in a day or so.

Actually, All the way to the edge of this world showcases Jun's bassing abilities and Shin's drumming abilities pretty good, I think.
