So anyone want to take a crack at what's being said?

All i could gather from this is that Sawao thinks most if not all american fans love the pillows only for FLCL, which i guess is kinda true. Whenever he gets interviewed about the american audience, FLCL is always brought up. I'm sure people have pointed this out before, but it just seemed really prevalent in the interview.

I dunno, but I really dig the PV.

The fact that Sawao and Hayashi are in the same room and talking to each other boggles my mind. (Yeah, I like Polysics.)

But, yeah, good interview. I'm also interested if somebody could translate this.

This interview is very interesting even though I can't understand any of it. :|

I feel for sawao about the americans though.

It's pretty straight-forward kids...

Sawao and Hayashi of The Polysics introduce the PV for Scarecrow, the video plays, Sawao gives a quick word about it. He talks about his Cyclone, what he uses the 3 PU selector settings for, and the different effects he uses (Blues Drive and the distortion modulator) which any guitarist should be able to follow. Hayashi mentions the new DVD and asks about the experience in America. Sawao goes on to say that 99% of the fans only care about them because of FLCL and they don't care to come to the states again to play for a bunch of otaku sweaties, laughing follows...

THAT I got but...I still want the small details in between and does that mean they're not coming back to america?

If so, I'm really gonna be pissed off

I wouldn't count it out completely. To be honest, I was hoping to catch them this summer when I'm in Chicago with my cousin, but it looks like they are pretty much booked up.

They would only play FLCL and Scarecrap anyway.

Mare or someone of equal or better Japanese-speaking ability needs to translate this bit.

Either way, we need to fucking write letters to the pillows in Japanese. We need to tell them that many of the fans are in love with their entire discography. Ugh! This makes me so sad for Sawao to think that we only know their work from FLCL, and the Penalty Life release in the US.

Noo...I'm sad now.

i'm wondering if sending them a message through their myspace would do any good. but i do really want to know what they're saying and laughing about, for 100% that is. i mean they obviously have to be making fun of the FLCL fans. i think the whole ROSS incident had bigger implications thatn most of us thought though. :?

Well, there are some normal fans who know about them from things besides FLCL, but I'd understand if they think all american fans are sweaty japan-obsessed people, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qdn40Kvz ... ed&search=.
But not coming to America again because of that stereotype would be rediculous.

They get too many messages from the hooker bots and advertisers.

I think "many" is an overstatement. I mean, have you ever checked the pillows' page on last fm? Sawao's right.

Hell, half this board doesn't even like the most recent stuff the pillows have put out (a.k.a. the stuff Sawao wants us to like - I doubt he gives a fuck if anyone likes "Ame ni Utaeba" or "Happy Slave"...okay, maybe a little fuck, and most of that fuck would probably come from Manabe anyway), and I doubt you'd find more hardcore fans than you will here.

I bet Manabe would have wanted to come back, but Sawao just said, "Bitch, no!"

Right. "Many" seems like "many" when you're on Instant Music, and have a handful of people on your AIM buddy list that are pillows die-hards. But yeah, comparatively...we're a very small minority.

I feel like such a cock for forgetting my copy of AMAP and instead having them sign my FLCL OST 1 in Chicago during their first tour. My god.
I can only hope that they heard me in Seattle when I cried out "PANTOMIME!".

I know, I wish we all had our shit together during at least the second tour. We could have mass-bombarded them with IM fans, instead of having them deal with fat kids who stared at their Rock'n'roll Sinners shirts with confusion.

I'm just as sad that Sawao seems to be completely ignorant of fans like us on IM. It's that damn language barrier.

If I went to a foreign country and was bombarded by fat kids, even if they spoke my language I'd be freaked out.
