 utatane
i found some rare vids of the pillows on this server:
Name: Magicant
Address: un-magicant.dyndns.org
Port: 7777
ive seen akasaka blitz, 2001.05.05 avi, POPHILL 2001 mpg, live in texas, TVK Adult's Big Trump Convention 2002 avi, SAWAO YAMANAKA TALKS ABOUT THE BLOODTHIRSTY BUTCHERS mpg (sounds interesting), and much more.
needless to say, i came several times. however i haven't figured out how to use utatane. you have to get people to allow you to download from them. i can't converse with anyone because when they send me a message, it's just a bunch of ugly symbols(not english or japanese).
utatane (english version): http://archive.winmxworld.com/Utatane/U ... nglish.zip
let me know if you have any luck with it.

let's see... go to server, click add, type the info for magicant, make a log-in name and password, check redirect server, click ok. you should see it on the list. right-click on it and click link. i think that's it.
Is it an ftp thing? uhh... idk

I have all those videos you mentioned, and there are quite a few of them floating around SoulSeek as well.

And I don't have any of those.
However, I have access to slsk this week, so hopefully I'll be getting some more pillows videos. Though it crashed on me this morning.

You know what you could do?
You could be smart about searching up the pillows and go into the pillows chatroom and do a roomsearch there. Talk about insta-leeching shit you don't have, unless if you've more or less got everything.

It's pretty simple.
It operates much like WinMX in that it uses the OpenNap network. There's also way, way more servers than Magicant available. KOOL is one that I frequented that put out alot of results for most bands and was home to alot of the new release servers and people with rare files. Really this program demands that you have something of value which can be used to tempt a native Japanese user to trade with you. If you don't have anything, don't expect anything. All of the people that use Utatane are stingy, impatient, and rude. There's a few nice folk that will start your download if you wait, but it will be for something that would be obtained easily elsewhere. If you are trading a 50 MB file for one that is 200 MB, you'll only get to about 52 MB of it before you get cut off. Most Japanese traders will also purposely slow down their connections at random points during the course of your trade to cheat you out of a few MB. Imagine babysitting a download all night only to end up with an avi file that's just a couple MB short of being complete and a racist Japanese trader with all 100% of the file you gave him laughing at you from behind his computer screen. This is Japan's virtual Pearl Harbor. Requesting a trade in English is pretty much useless and will get you banned by people pretty quick. When I used this program three years back, I asked around and compiled a list of requests in Japanese that I'd use. Even then, I'd go largely ignored unless I had something of value. Basically it's not worth the trouble unless you have lots of expendable time and want to contribute something to a community that will only forget about it in half a year's time.
