anyway there's a japanese music forum [url=http://www.j-revolution.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=45&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0]Here[/url] with some members talking about the pillows bieng overrated,good but repetitive or didn't create a single good song in 16 years ,so I want the members who know more about the pillows than I do to post in that topic because I sound like an elitest there


I know there's alot of topics like this posted before,but the forum is dead these days so...

Who ever said they're overrated is their opinion. I think they're underrated if anything. I read some guys post saying the pillows are repetitive.... I think he need his brain checked.

i've heard the alfee. they suck really hardcore. I borrowed an album and listened to it like three times through, not while doing something else, just listening. this comment made no sense. WHAT THE FUCK DO THE ALFEES HAVE TO DO WITH THE PILLOWS? AND WHERE DID THE "beat that pillows" THING COME INTO THIS?!?!?!? SO CONFUSED BY THE STUPIDITY LEVEL!!1111

what's funny is this kid is 15. i think otoko might've been right in assuming he hasn't listened to much outside of FLCL

more specifically, how can somebody accurately judge a song with one or two listens? hell, it's taken me countless times to fully gain my appreciation for my favorite songs, such as strange chameleon, girlfriend, 90's my life, and many, many more. that's like hearing a few songs by a group once each and then saying that "that group is repetitive." oh wait. it's not like that, it's exactly that.

^ same here. i didn't fully enjoy stuff like WI, KS, and LF up until about 3 or 4 months ago. but after listening to it more and more, you can see that these songs are indeed inspired and, besides the obvious sono mirai wa ima and last dinosaur resembalnce, definitely different and good in their own right

The members of that board are almost as stupid as the insipid mainstream "J-Rock" they listen to. I don't think the Post-HB stuff is all fantastic, but there are some great songs in there. From 1990 until 1999, the pillows had an amazing run; in my opinion, EVERY album was amazing. Whoever said "Runnerz High is T3H BEST!!@1!1!`!!!!!" is simply an idiot. I like the second half or so of this album, but personally, I think it's easily the weakest thing they put out up to that point.

I've never heard anything like the pillows' early work; combining 50's and 60's rock with alternative music, pop, and jazz (between '93 and '95), they developed an utterly unique and original sound that blows their pathetic arguments out of the water. Of course, the two or three die-hard haters aren't going to be convinced; they've already make up their minds to be imbiciles. You could argue that Penalty Life or Good Dreams or whatever are unoriginal, but those don't hold a candle to the early stuff, anyway. From their goofy outfits to the distinctive musical style, I've never heard anything like Moon Gold or White Incarnation. Their ability to change stylistically but retain their identity is a strength, not a weakness.

The early stuff (from Pantomime to Living Field) is easily the most difficult to digest, but it's worth the effort. Great musicianship and unique style really make this music stand out to me, but of course, the visual kei obsessed nimrods on "J-Revolution" aren't going to understand.

1. The Weeaboo opinions of "Diru" fans are invariably asinine.

2. Pretty much nothing is truly original, so the argument that the pillows aren't original is worthless.

3. I see no mention of Ging Nang Boyz. Refer to point 1.

You really can't expect to get very good opinions from those "j-rock" or "j-whatever" forums. There was some funny stuff in that topic, though.

I hope it gets locked, it's nothing more than people saying "my opinion is right and here's why." It's no use arguing, they're going to think what they want and just because people question it it's never going to change, simply due to spite.
