Hmm...that was a nice read. Though the thing that's probably gonna stick out in everyone's mind:
But the album right now that we’re very confident about and put the most passion into would be the new album “MY FOOT.”
Huh. Well, I guess that's expected, but...it would've been nice if they at least gave a look back into their history. I can't see how Manabe just isn't proud enough of PML to mention it as an album new fans should check out. |

Pretty good interview. It is a shame that they don't talk about their older stuff, but it's natural for them to want fans to listen to My Foot (especially considering that it's being released domestically). |

I liked the interview but I thought some of the questions were kind of bad (like as someone pointed out with the favorite album one). I think it was discussed on ANN's site, but they had to put in the Anime Fan's perspective for questions because that is the audience they are suppose to have. For that, I think it justifies their questions (not necisarily their weird reviews, but their questions). The bright side on FLCL, though, is the reason the pillows were chosen to do the music was because the director and production staff were huge fans (according to what they said). So I can't rea;;y get mad at them (though it would be stupid to anyways) ![]() |

Well, as Ureshii stated, it's only natural for them to want everyone to listen to their newer stuff. It's what they are currently doing and are proud of. I guess i must be in the minority of fans who really enjoyed MY FOOT a lot. I really think it felt "complete" as an album. The whole thing, no matter how different it was from their previous work, felt very good by itself as one entity. It was definitely a welcome change from their recently released albums, where a lot of the music had similar chord progressions from their earlier stuff. Catchy, but seemed to be a lot of re-hashed material. MY FOOT seemed very well thought out. I think it was amazing that an album that unique was put out so soon after GOOD DREAMS. I am happy with where the pillows are going if they continue on this route. |

that was an interesting interview. some of the questions were a bit strange, but i was surprised when sawao mentioned Frontiers. i never knew that was one of sawao's favorite songs before. and i could understand why manabe would say My Foot is a good album to listen too. pretty much any abnd would say the same thing with their new album. and i liked getting the entire back story on buuster kun. i thought that the doll in the Hybrid Rainbow PV was something they made themselves just for the video. guess not. ![]() |

It was also interesting hearing about that one fan from Mexico... wow, there are a lot of passionate people there. Did anyone else see the vids of how long the lines were to get into the pillows' Mexico shows? Amazing. '-' |

yea, that was pretty crazy. and in response to your previous post, i thought My Foot was a great album too. yea i think TYMT for example is better, but i think the pillows did a great job on it and i think it holds together well |
Usually in Japan, an airline company is nice enough to wait until everyone boards the plane, so rest of the other crew was just waiting to get picked up and realized the plane was gone. The rest of the members had to look for another flight that was open. In the meantime, Sato and I had to unload all the equipment. It was terrible.
This was my favorite part. |

Yeah, the first thing I thought when I heard Juliet for the first time was: "Man, these guys kinda remind me of the Beatles... only their English makes me laugh and they sound more fun." (Btw: I know the topic isn't the pillows sound like The Beatles...) In any case, I would say that these guys are like The Beatles, except that they are definately here to stay. The Beatles were in it for the money (not a bad idea, if you look where it got them... Well, forget about Michael Jackson.) but the pillows are in it for the love of the game. Heh, reading about the incident in Chicago is kinda funny. Typical O'Hare airport... Just imagine what it'd be like if they expanded it! (Sorry for all you non-Chicagoans--Mayor Daley REALLY wants to expand the O'Hare airport, which is like the biggest international airport in the world.) Pure pandemonium. =) |
