He has to write parts that he can play while he sings. :?

He should play at least some sixteenths and sixteenth-eighths on instrumentals.

EDIT: And triplets. :X

Fuck no. Just be more interesting. More like the PML days. I don't think there's just straight 8ths on it. Makes it more interesting to listen to.

Also, Shin is a dance beat whore. That's most all he does anymore.

Maybe Satou's been listening to Asian Kung-Fu Generation a little too much...?

I would hardly call 2 dance beat songs on the album "all he does anymore".

I can understand why neither Heart Is There nor Wakare no Uta made the cut, since having 4 dance beats on one album would be redundant as hell.

That being said, the only other similar beats that come to mind are Funny Bunny and Irene, the latter being a full-on disco song.

Being a drummer, I can say playing those kinds of drumbeats are pretty fun. They leave plenty of room for original cuts, without being too tiresome to play for the drummer.

Drumming for this kind of music sucks though. The drums don't really have anything to do with the song. That's why Jason Becker's drums are amazing. You won't hear the same shit on his CDs. Becuase the drums relate to the song. Not just some dance beat to keep time because the bass player sucks.

Maybe it's cause they're b-sides?

So... If the bass player sucks... why complain about the drumming in the first place...? :|

Because with Steven, everything about the pillows can be complained about.

(no offense meant, :)

First, we've already established why the bass player sucks. He doesn't really contribute anything to the band (Besides low notes), and has nothing to offer in terms of skill, or composition.

And goldenrhino, everything has flaws. Have you heard me play? Flaws up the asshole! But I'm trying extremely hard to fix it. Personally, I find my playing to be extremely boring. But I take steps to improve this. If jun can't get over something as simple as picking technique rather than looking cool, then he loses all his respect from me as a musician, and somebody with morals that make me not give up so easily.

After listening to his shit as fragments and on the Chewinggum Weekend, I don't think Jun sucks as much as we think he does. Since we all know that Sawao SEEMS to have complete creative control over the band, and cuz of Sawao's songwriting style (current), I'm inclined to believe that Sawao is not interested in tapping Jun's knowledge of bass playing.

That or i'm full of shit. :|
