I am aware that there are some hostile posters her, but I am not worried. I love the pillows and that is all that matters.
It sometimes seems like people are really really hard on the pillows. I don’t really understand it. I love them, and I think that maybe some people just make fun of them because they can’t appreciate what the pillows are doing. When I hear people say that good dreams is a bad album I just want to tell them that it’s not supposed to be great like happy bivouac or runners high. It’s just a fun album
. That is what it is. I mean, not every album has to be flawless, why do people criticize it? The answer is, they are just trying to be cool. Throughout history there have been people trying to belittle things that they don’t understand. It reminds me of the civil rights movement of the American 60’s. People reacted violently beacause they were ignorant. People like Martin Luther King jr. received similar reactions and criticism as Good Dreams receives here. It’s like good dreams is being hosed down with slander, or attacked by the dogs of cynicism.
Everybody here loves to talk about stuff like living field, but honestly I think those are there weakest albums. They sound like generic elevator music, and don’t have as much emotion or passion as the later albums. Sorry if this seems like a rant, but I just wanted to get some things of my chest. Just remember: we are all here to love the pillows. That is what we have in common.
