Dizzy Life strikes me as sorta...meh.
I liked Bakuon Drop, though. The Predators don't seem to be anything special, but I don't have any problems listening to them, either.

Once again, standards are relative and like @$$holes, everyone has them. You guys have your standards, and I have mine.

i like how everybody seems to have missed each other's points today, but i also must say, i only heard bakuon drop, and it's pretty good. i have to agree with mellie's point that she made, if you don't like it, good for you.

It's better than Dizzy Life, that's for sure. There's still hope.

Wow, surprising how many people catch on to something so fast in a day...
Anywho as for THE PREDATORS, their supposed to be a casual play band and yet they put alot of heart and soul and concentration, all those tracks on the new mini-album are all really just jam sessions, not something they recorded over and over to perfection to where it was just right, they just threw together they felt comfortable and happy with and recorded it.
So really like mellie said alot of you guys are really just taking them too fucking seriously and need to just mellow out. I find their music to be pretty good, they wanted it to just be a happy simple rock album, nothing to be related with either of their bands, just a coming together of three guys who like simple rock jamming out.

Are you sure about that? Definitely sounds like they're going for a single. The tracks that have been released so far certainly aren't jam songs, and the recording is very produced.
At any rate, I think the bottom line here isn't even "standards" or anything like that. No one is debating that The Predators are simply trying to make catchy pop songs, so the deciding factor is just taste. We can all see what this band is trying to do. The debate here is weather or not they are succeeding.

Found this on the predators lj page: 'Among them are the JIRO-composed "Dizzy Life" and "Lizard man" of the speedy rock 'n roll guitar style songs, and the grunge-colored "Sleepy Dragon".'
Judging by the translation's putting of Dizzy Life and Lizard man together, Lizard man will probably burn my ears too. Oh well.

Shouldn't this thread be in the music section? Despite the fact that it is a side project of Sawao's, it's not related to the pillows...
"Dizzy Life" sucks. Now watch me get permanently banned for saying that. -_-
