Thanks! Not a bad album, though he should have mixed differently, had the synths and such carry melodies more frequently, changed up his guitar tone more, etc. Some of the songs were quite good, particularly Daybreaker.

Sweet Little Deal, Daybreaker and All Creation are very nice. Rutile's verse has this odd quality, like he plays a couple notes that you wouldn't want to hit? Like, off, but not in a bad way. I would like Gemini more if it didn't loop that same bit for the entire duration though. Should have hired a drummer; it's not just that it's sfx, but also most of the patterns and fills he used on the whole album are dull and rudimentary. Child of Wheat... ehhh. Didn't really like the last song.

And I don't get it, does he want people to record their own playing over his karaoke version of Beautiful Struggle? There is only trouble when you try to sell it as your own property, right?

We should like, totally add lyrics to this album.

Pretty fucking awful. I think one of my hugest gripes with Manabe right now is that he feels the need to put vibrato on every single note. VIBRATO MEANS EMOTIONAL RIGHT? Wiggling every single note, especially when your lead melody is so goddamn simple and repetitive gets old FAST. It doesn't sound unique or emotional or anything. It sounds super amateurish. Also, Daybreaker was totes porn music. :| Come on, guys.

I know it's condescending as hell to say this, but I feel like if this album were released by some random-ass guitarist no one here knew about, and we all listened to it, no one would give it even half a moment of consideration. We'd all say "Trash" and move on even faster.

Thanks for sharing, Spikeness. :shred: :groovin:

This kind of music makes me want to smoke a bowl and just chill. But I have stuff to do. Ugh....

The groove of Daybreaker reminds me so much of something but I can't put my finger on it. CCR, maybe?

This is how I feel about rap music. I don't even like rap, really. They must really know how to target a demographic..

Thank you, Spikeness!!!

This would be a really good pillows album if the rest of the pillows were on it. But, still, I'm digging it! Even if I didn't know who it was, I'd still dig it. It's good music to me.

I listened to it once, skipping through the tracks. I'll probably never listen to it again. If I listened to this not knowing it was Manabe, I would probably make fun of it. I'm not a fan of this type of instrumental music and don't ever listen to it, but it sounds incomplete to me; as if this is just a demo that was leaked before vocals replaced the guitar track.
To me, this album sounds like something you would hear while shopping in a supermarket, on an infomercial, or in a Sonic game (one of the horrible newer ones that nobody likes). It's nothing that I would want to voluntarily listen to. What would have been interesting is if he had a guest vocalist for each track. I think something like that actually could have been a real bitchin' album. At least it would have been more interesting than this genre of "infomercial/grocery" instrumental music, in my opinion.

Anyway, thanks for the upload Spikeness. And even though I don't dig the album, still respect to Manabe. :shred:

Yea, I gotta agree with GR and Mafu here, not so great of an album. I've heard a lot better instrumental music than this. I mean, there's definitely some nice melodies in here, some pretty awesome solos... but they just don't stack up as complete musical pieces. Manabe should've defintiely got some more guest musicians on here. That, or just arranged things better. Thanks for the upload though.

I'm kind of surprised by the overall reaction, but I'm glad that a lot of you guys liked it. Maybe I'm missing so something.
I'll listen again.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of specific qualities did you guys find good about it?
