It's an expensive magazine primarily about anime, but it has sections about Japanese music and other things.

In other words, you don't give a shit, steve.
so craig has been playing guitar for 40 years?
Yeah. The same crap over and over, which is why I was sick of it until I heard the Pillows.

I mean, I started when the Beatles were NEW. And all my friends were a LOT better guitarists than I was, so I just screwed around and played bits and pieces. I don't think I could even play a song all the way through.

So now I'm taking classical guitar and piano. And I can play one song all the way through: Hybrid Rainbow. (Well, except for that damned double-speed octaves break...)

I know what you mean, but if you think thats tuff try Good Dreams. You constantly switch between b, f, c and g chord sliding all over the place. Its real pain in the behind but sounds cool.

That I can probably do. I used to fingerpick bluegrass, and typical rock stuff, but I was always a rythym player that was pissed that I couldn't play lead. Sliding chords around is relatively easy for me 'cause I've got big hands.

Classical helps mostly from being able to read music and do scales and shit, but really...since I haven't heard of any of the Pillows stuff being availabe as sheet music...when I want to get something down I get out the Tascam Guitar Trainer and slow it up.

That's how I managed to get the lead breaks in ITIC and Back Seat Dog worked out. I'm trying to get the lead break in Lesser Hamster (In Blue) done, but it's slow going. I can get the basic sequence down, but there's a lot of embellishment there that I'm only getting VERY slowly. I started PowerTabbing it, but the timing is just too much for my feeble brain.

Let's keep on topic.

Anyway now for my important topic bringer backer:

Yeah, I dig it. That's why I shelled out the almost-one-hundred-bucks for the subscription.
