Actually though? Cause I think most of the strengths of Future (haven't listened to diary of amnesia yet) are in its writing - that older golden age songwriting - rather than, say, the production or sawao's singing or whatever other variables that aren't writing. Like, I'm sure they could go back tot ll the studio and make rehash Daydream Wonder or Sunday and make them sound hella good.

The new single was good, so I feel pretty good about the next album.

Prediction: The next album is going to knock our collective socks off. With Sawao having talked about his feelings regarding the last few years' worth of releases and with the band revisiting some high quality older material in FUTURE, I think they could put together something that tops TRIAL for their next release. I liked TRIAL pretty well, and I think that most IMers did too, so fingers crossed. Let's hope that I didn't just jinx them and we end up with an album full of Ready, Steady, Go's.

I loved Trial personally, there were a lot of solid tracks. If they re-recorded Future and thought "Hey, this sounds good, lets write something like this," then the next album could be awesome.

I really liked most of TRIAL. I got Revival, Rescue, Energiya, Minority Whisper and TRIAL as songs I'm willing to listen to fairly often. The others weren't bad, but didn't click as well. I'd kill for more stuff like Future though.

They should do another Turn Back, honestly.

I would love it if they did this. There are a ton of other old songs I'd like to hear Turn Back-ified versions of. But honestly, I'd rather have a new album. The BtB cover, Future and the stuff on Trial has got me hopeful for a killer record this time around.

I've thought they should do another TB style album for a while, because who wouldn't want to hear their old songs redone in a cool way? But I don't know if it would be the same...TB came in an era of solid music. The twists they gave to the old songs worked because they were playing them with the spirit they had in the early 2000s.

I fear a TB-style album today will be more "Rock Stock version" than "Turn Back version."

EDIT: And I could see a Colorful Pumpkin Fields remake, but I fear any of their reggae influenced tracks would not transfer well and would not want them to attempt a self-cover of them. They're too deep into their love of distortion to play super clean like that any more. Imagine Native World with distortion.

Goddamnit, FUTURE is so good.
