Honestly, i think some of you will never like anything new by the pillows, even if it is great. Its the same reasons too. Now i know some of your opinions really are that you don't like the new stuff, but some of you guys need to get off the bandwagon already, your not cool just cause you agree with clouds or culen.
No bandwagon that I see.

I think he means the "bandwagon" of people's favorite album being Living Field only after a couple people here said they liked it.
And Jim, the demo started out that way. I'm under the assumption that the song will start out that way, because it's rock. If i'm right, then that's Steve: 1, Jim: 0.
Whether it starts that way or not, it's a pointless observation. As I already explained, two songs having guitar riffs doesn't make them that similar.

...and that Penalty Life and Good Dreams, and pretty much most anything after the 90s is crap - a sentiment that does not seem to be shared by most, judging by the amount of Good Dreams material in the underrated songs thread.

Personally, my biggest complaint about any of these much-badmouthed albums is the album art of Penalty Life, there's something about it that I just don't dig... the actual music is fine though.
It's easy to say "it's not original", but what exactly do you MEAN by that?
I mean if you put it on TYMT or GD I couldn't tell it wasn't off one of them. Make sense?

Edit: maybe just GD

Nothing is truly original, all we have is the moment and thats always new until the moment passes. So what the pillows are doing now is living in the moment making music there way one day at a time. And there is no reason to say whats coming out now is no good because it not like the older stuff. Thats crazy talk. Every body here knows my opinion that I think there on the right track and I wouldn't say there music is sounding too simmilar.

A lot bands will put out simillar songs but that shouldnt stop you from decerning each ones uniquely awsome style. Like the ramones wrote a ton of songs that sounded simmilar to eachtother. But a lot of those songs Rocked and were great.
Thanks, Joyeuse, for the download link, but you named the file as "nonfictionsample" xD!
Yeah, I guess I did. Even cool people slip up sometimes.

Fix'd, regardless.

Which would make for an interestingly small bandwagon that everybody's on.

Exactly. I was refering to the percieved bandwagon that Schmatzee I believe mentioned earlyer. I think that this whole bandwagon (blimey I'm starting to despise that term) effect which keeps being mentioned is just the product of a few vocal posters' opinions, and maybe a few equally vocal followers of those opinions (maybe not, whatever, there's no way to get in someone else's head to find out, short of a Vulcan mind meld).

And ya, I know when TYMT was released :0)

On a random note, I've just been listening to Hidetoshi Yamanaka's album, I'm Still on my Way, and ja, it's pretty good, he has versions of Spikey Brothers' songs Cold Side of the Street and Waiting for the Sun (the SB version is titled in Japanese though, I think, being taiyou wo matteru) Pretty neat little album. By the by, does anyone know if copies of Spikey Love exist? I've only been able to get ahold of Spikey Lane...

No copies of Spiky Love that I'm aware of. I was actually planning to ask Sawao if I could get one when I went to ACEN. That was before we were told that we couldn't go into the signing.

Bummer.

Eh...he's basically saying:

"The name is fixed, even if I am/am not cool."

Main Entry: regardless of
Function: preposition
: without taking into account <accepts all regardless of age>; also : in spite of <regardless of our mistakes>
